Inside

NewBeauty TestTube includes a great information book with product information, prices, details on where to buy the products, etc. Somehow mine arrived all stuck together and hard to read. It was like it got wet and then dried, but no products were leaking and nothing else looked like that booklet, so who knows? Anyway, here is what was included in the January 2016 shipment:

~diane FROMM Brush (~$2): I was pretty amazed that this brush was so inexpensive. I have a wet brush that I use, but I will keep this as a spare.

~dermalogica Daily Microfoliant (.45oz / 13g) ($9.35): I absolutely love getting dermalogica products in subscription boxes. This is a powder that you mix with water which will leave your skin glowing.  It’s pricey ($54 for the 2.6oz full size), but worth it.

~HASK Essential Express Blow Dry Heat Protectant Spray (6oz) ($6.99): I try to avoid blow drying my hair as much as possible, but it’s hard in the winter.  This helps protect your hair from damage that heat styling causes and also cuts down drying time.  I am not totally sure how, but it does.

~Neocell Beauty Bursts ($2.64): I swear these came in my last NewBeauty TestTube too?  I am not feeling edible beauty items so I will likely end up passing this along to a friend who is more into them than I am.

~SuperSmile Professional Whitening Toothpaste (8oz) ($21): I am so excited about this!  I would never buy $21 toothpaste on my own, but when it’s in a box?  Yes please!  I will be using this unit it runs out and hopefully I can see a difference!

~bliss that’s incredi-“peel” (~$1.50): I have been using some other skincare products lately so I didn’t want to mix it up too much with this, but this is supposed to create an overnight facial effect.  I will be using it when my skin settles down a bit and can’t wait!

~Tan Towel Samples (~$6): Tan Towels are a NewBeauty TestTube favorite!  They are always in these tubes.  I love them and they do work, so I don’t mind getting them.

~Cailyn Dizzolvi’It Makeup Melt Cleansing Balm (~$4): This is super interesting.  It’s a cleansing balm that takes off everything from skincare products to serums and makeup.  And more.  I love getting do it all products like this in boxes and so far I love it.

~Mally Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner ($18): Totally not an eyeliner fan so I will be passing this on to a friend. I have tried this brand in the past though and think it applies very smoothly.

All totaled I came up with a value of $71.48 for the January 2016 NewBeauty TestTube.  I thought this box was okay, but I wasn’t thrilled with it.  I was planning on canceling awhile back and never got around to it, but I think it might be time.

I don’t subscribe to this, but I would’ve had weirdly mixed emotions. Love that particular Dermalogica product. I have come to appreciate eyeliners more since I figured out how to get them not to migrate.

But most “edibles” from boxes like this are not vegetarian (I saw this one had hyaluronic acid and collagen, both of which are byproducts of poultry processing) and I hate self-tanners. I tried to give a whole box of self-tanning stuff away last month and no one would take it, so it ended up in the trash.

And everything else would also be a love it or hate it reaction from me. I don’t know if I’ve ever been this divided about a box before. Probably good that I don’t subscribe…better to pick something I’d be more consistently happy with.
