Hazel Lane March 2015 Subscription Box – “Arizona”

Hazel Lane sends a carefully curated box of surprise goodies from that month’s selected city that they think represents its spirit.  The idea is to give you an affordable way to explore the world without having to leave your house!  Items you can expect to see included are food, drink, clothing, accessories and handcrafted items chosen by locals with the environment, social responsibility and CHICNESS in mind. I subscribe to the Ladies “Tote” box which is $45/month (formerly the $46.99/month Classic box).

The Box

Hazel Lane ships via USPS Priority Mail and took just a few days to arrive.  They actually didn’t ship the March box until the 1st or 2nd of April, but they mentioned that ahead of time so I was not expecting it any sooner.

I was actually 100% spoiler free for this one!  Based off of just the two items in the first look I was thrilled!

The information Card
The information Card

My box didn’t have an information card in it again this month, but I reached out to Hazel Lane and they e-mailed me over a copy.  They mentioned that the cards might be sliding out of the boxes when they are in transit which sounds reasonable.  Anyway, the March 2015 Hazel Lane destination was “Arizona” and my “Tote” included the following:

~Adam Rabbit Agate Ring ($20): All Adam Rabbit jewelry is made in Phoenix and no pieces are alike. Although I do think it’s super pretty, I don’t know how often I personally will wear this ring so I may pass it along to a friend.

~Cowboy Incense ($5.25): I love it.  B will use this in his bar in the basement.  The package includes three different desert scents including “Cedar”, “Cactus Blossom” and “Rain” all of which smell great.

~Farmstead Goat Milk Caramels from The Simple Farm ($10): Delicious.  Sometimes caramels from subscription boxes are a little on the hard side, but these are so creamy and smooth and soft.  They are absolutely fabulous.  I cannot say enough about these.

~Pink Puddle Studio Print ($6): Ha!  A llama print!  Fantastic.  As soon as I get a square picture frame to fit this I am putting it up in my office.  I am still entertained when I watch that video of those llamas running wild from a few months ago and every time we pass the one that lives near us (yes, there is a farm with a llama like 5 minutes from my house) I make B drive really slow so I can see it better.

~Genuine Cactus Garden ($9.99): I saved my favorite item in the box for last!  This is a real cactus garden that you put together yourself.  I opened mine and potted it right away.  It’s now sitting on my windowsill in my office.  Totally awesome.  And cactus are so easy to care for which is perfect for me.

All totaled I came up with a value of $51.24 for the March 2015 Hazel Lane box.  And I loved it.  It *might* have been my favorite Hazel Lane box yet.  That caramel, the llama print and the cactus?  Beyond awesome!

I love this box! I might actually end up buying the print .. .and the cactus even though I manage to kill everything – including cacti….

What a great box! Though I’m kind of surprised they didn’t include any Prickly Pear candy or salsa/hot sauce. I’m going to have to check out these companies, I’ve never heard of them.

Also, be sure to eventually put those cacti in a bigger pot or outside- they will get huge if you let them! We bought my boyfriend’s parents one of those years ago and now they are huge. One of them is nearing 4′ tall!
