Wow! I cannot believe how early I got my August 2014 Beauty Box 5 this month! I couldn’t believe when it appeared in my mailbox on Saturday!

Beauty Box 5 is a monthly subscription service that delivers a sample box of all things beauty. Each box contains 4 – 5 samples of a variety of makeup, skin care, fragrances and everything in between!  Boxes are $12/month if you do a month-to-month subscription, however, I subscribed a while back when they had a crazy deal that brought the cost of an annual subscription down to $6.58/month.

The Box

BeautyBox 5 ships via DHL and took only four days to arrive.  I was totally shocked it arrived so quickly.  Totally shocked!

First Look

This is probably the best Beauty Box 5 first look ever!  The sizes were nice and big and saw lots of pops of color.

The Information Card

The August 2014 Beauty Box 5 theme was “radiant and remarkable” and included the following items to help you carry your carefree attitude into fall:

~pur~lisse Pur~protect SPF30 ($16.18):  I can honestly say that I will never ever have to buy another one of these ever.  This is probably the 10th sample of this I have received.  They are everywhere this summer.

~La Fresh Travel Lite Makeup Remover Wipes ($2.49):  I am a big fan of the La Fresh line and on the rare occasion that I wear a lot of makeup (enough that I need more than just cleanser to remove it), these are great.

~Nanaacoco Lip Gloss (Mysterious) ($4): I can’t believe that this is only $4!  For that price I wouldn’t mind a few more.  The color is quite pink in the container, but it’s not as shocking when you put it on.  And it’s not sticky either.  It’s not advertised as being scented, but I swear it smells like cake.

~Novex Brazilian Keratin ($0.45):  I took everyone’s advice and bought some cheap travel sized container so I can use pouch samples like this more effectively.  Before I would open it, use it one and basically waste the rest because I didn’t have a good way to store it.  Not anymore!  This stuff is awesome by the way.  I have been using it on hair for a while and am always happy with the results.

~Style Essentials Nail Polish ($1.75): This one doesn’t have a color listed on the bottle, but it’s a pretty glittery black.  This is a great fall color and will for sure get used.

All totaled I came up with a value of $24.87 for the August 2014 Beauty Box 5.  Considering I paid less than $7 for this box it was quite a steal! The majority of the value was in the pur~lisse, but I am happy with everything this month!

I used the HALFOFF code and subscribed last week(thanks for the code by the way!!), do you know when this box normally ships? Now that I have seen yours I can’t wait to get mine!

    1. Jennifer

Hmm, if you subscribed last week I am not 100% sure when you will get yours? I don’t know if it will start with August or September? What did it say when you signed up?

      1. Lindsay R

I *believe* if you signed up by the 21st of this month you would get an August box, they never said anything about shipping except boxes ship out on the 8th of the month and you would receive an email with shipping info then.

I am excited, this and BoxyCharm should arrive today. And my Julep mystery box tomorrow or the next day. Glad I bought a second nail polish rack!

Report back on your mystery box!

I’m getting a bit impatient with that one. It’s been sitting in Forest Park, GA, at a DHL hub, for a good 36 hours now. That’s less than 30 miles from my house! If it had made it to my local post office by 9 or 9:30, I’d get it today. Sadly, it may be a few more days. Suppose I can always cross my fingers and hope they just forgot to scan it…hey, it’s happened before!

I like to think that is what happens to my packages too!

Wow, Pur-Lisse is everywhere this summer. I wonder what that’s about? It seems like almost every sub box has had it at LEAST once, is that as weird as I think it is?

    1. Jennifer

I don’t know, but no one is ever going to have to buy any because we all have such a surplus!

I love your box. Mine is similar with color variations (I got silver nailpolish) and the gloss is a different shade. I also got a full size hair serum, which I actually really love. I know that there are some mixed reviews on BB5, but I really love it. I signed up when they had that awesome deal where it works out to something like $7 a box, you can’t really beat that! To have a box of 5 items delivered to your doorstep for $7 is amazing. I find that I really use their products and luckily the Purlisse doesn’t expire for a few years…it will take me that long to work my way through all my Purlisse.

I agree that you just cannot beat the price. I pay less than $7/month. How can I NOT like that???
