HeroDogBox, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a subscription box company focused on providing treats and toys, all made in the U.S., that your dog will love. Boxes start at $19/month and can be customized by the size of your dog.

First Look

This was a fairly large box for a dog subscription box so I was really curious to see what was inside.  My dogs are little so I was guessing it wasn’t a giant toy or anything!

I am not 100% sure if I received the June or July 2014 HeroDogBox, but I am calling it July since that is when I received it.  Here is what it included:

~PooBagger ($29.95): My level of excitement about the PooBagger is oddly high.  We have something like this, but I don’t love it.  I don’t love cleaning up dog poop (I try to avoid it to tell you the truth), but this is way easier than our old one.  You need to have a screw in handle to make this work, but if you don’t happen to have one, they sell one on their website or I am sure any hardware store would have what you need.

~PetSportUSA Toy ($6): I am not totally sure on the price on this one, so I just guessed.  It’s super cute and seems pretty study to play tug of war with.

~KonaChips Treats ($5.49): I am going to save these for my brother’s big dogs because they’d be lost on my dogs (they like tiny soft treats best).  They are made in the United States out of all human grade ingredients and while they sound good, I didn’t try them myself ;).

~lil’ lovee Bakery (~$2): These are easy to break apart and since they are a bit softer my dogs liked them pretty well.  They do smell better than a lot of dog treats they have tried too.

~Honest Pet Products Shampoo ($2.49): I am almost certain we’ve tried this before, but I can’t be sure.  The dogs always need shampoo and I am going to bring this up-north for after lake swims for them!

All totaled I came up with a value of $45.93 for the July (June?) HeroDogBox!  At $29/month I thought this was a great value!  And if you opt for a longer subscription and get the $19/month rate that’s even more amazing!!
