Best of the Boxes!

Disclosure: If you make a purchase through the links posted below, I may receive a small compensation. Read the full disclosure.

I get a lot of questions about what I do with all of the things I get from all these boxes I receive. Basically, I use them, gift them or donate them. And some of them I fall in love with. Today I thought I’d share 10 of my most favorite things ever received in subscription boxes. I’ve loved lots of things of course, but these are 10 of our favorites:

1. Harvey Prince Ageless – Pink Grapefruit (January Birchbox): I often find that I use the perfume samples from Birchbox least often, but this one was different.  I couldn’t stop smelling it because it was so delicious and ending up buying a full bottle.  I’d never heard of this fragrance before, much less smelled it, but now I am in love.

2. Tiny Whales Sail Away Tee (October Wittlebee): This tee is my all time favorite Wittlebee item.  It’s adorable and, as luck would have it, it still fits my little WB!

3. Green Toys Tugboat (December Citrus Lane): Although this came in one of WB’s boxes,  L is the one that loves it.  He plays with it every time he takes a bath.  And I suspect it will become a beach toy up-north very soon!

4. Giuliano Tartufi Black Truffle Pasta (March Gourmet Spotting): OMG, this truffle pasta was insane.  I need to find a local market that carries this and get more!  It’s that good.

5. Jax and Bones Elton the Octopus Rope Toy (January Barkbox): Baxter and Buddy have been working on this for months, but haven’t been able to chew through it yet.  A perfect dog toy if you will.

6. Caskers Gift Card (October Birchbox Man): B is totally into Caskers and has Birchbox to thank for it.  When I asked him what his favorite subscription box stuff was, he immediately said this gift card and this salt from Mantry.

7. Bodum Bistro Double Wall Expresso Mugs (December PopSugar): Another one of B’s favorites are these Bodum mugs.  He uses them every single day.  I am guessing he wishes he had some for work too!

8. DDF Brightening Cleanser (October Birchbox): This actually reminds me.  I need more of this.  This is a great cleanser.  I don’t know what else to tell you.  Try it!

9. Rockabye Baby “Good Day, Good Night” 2CD Set (December Stork Stack): I am pretty sure I talked some junk about this CD when I got it, but it’s totally grown on me.  Once I played it, I was sold.  It calms WB down when he’s upset in the car (it does happen I swear).  There’s just something about it.  I can’t explain.

10. Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes (September PopSugar): I don’t know why I didn’t know about these before, but I didn’t.  Love them!

Allright, that’s my list.  Now it’s your turn.  What is the best thing you’ve discovered from a subscription box? Please share!

Spread the love

    Heres my top 3!

    1. Whish Shave Crave Shaving Cream…I used Eos before which is the same type but this works a million times better for me.
    2. Heather Belle Signature Tassle Necklace from March’s popsugar
    3. Lollycadoodle Mouse from march bark box. My puppies loove this. they loved the hemp bone too but that was destroyed in a week. I like this one because even though it doesn’t look much like a mouse and the ears have been pulled off, there isn’t stuffing all over the place.

Ah ha! I’d been a member of Lot18 (wine flash sale site) for a while and wondered why on earth there wasn’t one for small batch booze. Not sure why it didn’t occur to me to google it but thanks for the heads up on Caskers 🙂 Somewhere else to spend all my money.

Those Yes to Cucumbers wipes are my standard go-to makeup remover and quick face-cleaning-in-a-pinch product. LOVE them.

Yes, the Bodum Bistro mugs for sure. We use them each and every day. I also can’t enough Argan oil.

  6. Ashley

I agree that Jax and Bones Elton the Octopus Rope Toy (January Barkbox) was a great item. I have a yellow lab, so she of course made quick work of it. We were finding little orange legs all over the house but she absolutely loved it.

Can you do a top ten of your favorite over all boxes? And then maybe a list of favorites of each(fave beauty, fave food, fave clothes etc)?

  8. Erica G.

My favorite item was definitely the homemade butter cookies that I received in my last month’s La Bella Box. Those cookies were so delicious! Definitely not good for my figure or anything but I didn’t care 🙂

  9. Jocelyn Dunlop

Argan Oil introduced to me by Ipsy (January 2013, I think). It has literally changed my skin. So great!

I love this idea of rounding up the best of the boxes! Might have to borrow it from you. 😉 That octopus toy is cute; I wish I had a dog for it, lol.

I agree with Alison that the La Fresh acetone-free nail polish wipes are awesome! I won’t remove my nail polish any other way now. I love the entire line of La Fresh Eco-Beauty products, which I first sampled in my Sept Yuzen box.

Another fav (great for my clumsy self) is Tilvee’s healing balm, which is kind of like applying chapstick. That was from the Yuzen August box.

And when it comes to food I was really impressed by 479 Popcorn in black truffle & white cheddar, from the Blissful Bites (July) Blissmo box. I never thought I’d like something like that since I’m not a fan of popcorn or strong flavors, but these were addicting.

I LOVE the Dang toasted coconut strips I got in my March Hammock Pack. Yum!

  12. Brandy Fisk

I loved the skip hop lunch bag I received in my citrus lane box. My son is only 16 months but, it is a zebra and we took it to the zoo with us. It holds alot.

  13. Jenny

Wow not sure what I would say are my favorites. Based on what I’m using all the time is my Fibre mascara from birchbox, Urban Decay eyeliner and my the Balm eyeshadows. They have all made it into my goto makeup bag. I also love the Tea clothes I got with a gc I won from kiwi crate. 🙂 My boys are wearing them all the time.

This totally looks like an April’s Fav Giveaways… except folks without kids or pets will be Meh!

I only get the Popsugar boxes but I can tell you the most used item (and the one that I went and bought more and more) were those Yes to Cucumbers Towelettes! Love them and they are now a staple. You would think with all the other items I’ve gotten that it would be something on a much grander scale. Loved the Snow and Graham thank you cards from November (bought more from their site) and the Brokedown scarf from September. I also just started using the Compagnie de Provence Soap from the Holiday box…the smell is strong but it’s perfect for the start of spring (mine was Olive Oil and Lavender).
