Poll: How often do you wash your sheets?

Disclosure: If you make a purchase through the links posted below, I may receive a small compensation. Read the full disclosure.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
You know how I love me some polls. So far we have learned that the majority of you shower everyday (55% of you do) and wear makeup everyday (57% of you do), but don’t wash your hair on a daily basis (by a long shot). So we are sorta clean and sorta made-up, but we have dirty hair. And we like it.

Now I want to know how often you wash your sheets. Once a week? Twice a week? Never. Do tell. I gotta tell you, I am fascinated by those of you who wash your sheets more than once a week. I just, well, I just don’t. Don’t get me wrong, I love having clean sheets. I love it. But the act of taking them off the bed, washing them, putting them back on the bed, etc. sounds easier than it is. Add in kids and dogs who like to play on the bed while you are trying to make it and you’ve got a mess on your hands!

My prediction on this poll is once every two weeks is going to be the winner. No just don’t think once a week is happening for a lot of people you know? But if it is (or even if it’s not) leave me a comment and let me know how often you wash yours!!!

I said once a month and that’s being honest. I’d like to do it every other week, and aim to do that, but it just doesn’t happen. I don’t have my own washer and drier, so laundry blows. I have to pay for it in quarters or lug it to a relatives house. IF I had my own washer and drier, I THINK that for the first year I’d love it so so much I’d wash the sheets weekly.

It is such a freakin bear to change the sheets on the bed…if they could self-wash themselves I’d be a happy girl…once a month is my limit…I give snaps and kudos to those that change theirs more often…how do you do it and what is your motivation???

Ok, I put once a month but honestly it’s not that often either. In my defense, I sleep in my bed maybe twice a week because I split time between my house and my boyfriend’s two places…I know, it’s a long story.

I really try to do them more often but it just doesn’t happen. Usually its alternating weeks with our bed and the kids beds. I just hate making beds and I can barely reach to make the crib up so I do the washing but I try to make sure hubby will be home to make the beds 😉

I HAVE to wash mine at least once a week. The thought of sleeping in dirty sheets makes my skin crawl.

I try for once a week, with a husband in the military they get a lot dirtier quicker haha.

Twice a week? Get out of here!!! Who voted for that?!?!

  8. Marsha

about once a month but I also have a dog who loves to play on the bed during the making or removal of the bedding even though I lift him down a gew times hehehe

Every other week, if I’m lucky. All depends on what is going on during the weekend that the “every other week” falls on. For sure at least once a month…..and I’m the only one that can make the bed. OCD…..enough said. 😉

Every other week, at least. I aim for each weekend, but that only happens in the summer, when I’m home. LOVE clean sheets. When they start to get a “funk” to them, or are too wrinkly, they gotsta go! Also, I wash them, dry them, and put them right back on – I do NOT fold sheets. HATE it!

    1. Courtney

@Jennifer: I use the same set! I hate folding sheets. I’ll never be able to properly fold a fitted sheet. Ha!

Every other weekend here, unless someone is sick.

I try for once a week, but it becomes every other week. I think your prediction is correct.

I only wash them maybe once a month. I mean…it’s just me in my bed-plus a couple of cats, lol. By the time I get in bed I’m showered & clean…so the bed doesn’t get dirty! So why wash sheets when they’re clean?? Glad I’m not the only one 😛

Once a week! Do you know how much oil and dirt gets on your pillow cases alone?! I do all 3 of ours once a week. (Mine, Mikayla and Hadleys crib sheet) I don’t mind the taking off part but the putting on especially the fitted sheet, that is a workout in itself!

Yes, I have tried dry shampoo and it’s a no go. My hair just likes to be washed everyday.

  15. Alison Weeks

I try to wash once a week, usually every 1.5 weeks. BUT my MIL changes her sheets every 2-3 days(she is retired though)!!! Because my FIL doesn’t like dirty/messy sheets and likes the feeling of clean sheets. HAHA never happening in my house!

Now … I change our sheets, kids included, once a week. But I don’t always wash them immediately, since we all have multiple sets of sheets for our beds. I will change them more often if they are needed, though. Sometimes kids have accidents, right?!

I wash mine once a week, but mainly because my husband is the typical oily skin guy and his side grosses me out. If it was just me, I would probably only wash them once a month unless they were white. We also have a yellow lab who sleeps on the bed, and I wash her bed covers about once a month, or every time she gets a bath.
