With no warning at all our September BabbaBox arrived yesterday. Seriously, I didn’t even get a shipping notification. Well maybe I did and just didn’t know? Either way, it was a great surprise.
In case you don’t know, BabbaBox is a theme-based box delivered right to your door and contains fantastic monthly activities with ALL the materials for kids ages 3-6. It’s $29.99/month (free shipping), but you can save 20% off your first box using the code “a20off”.
I’m not sure if you can tell by the picture, but BabbaBox‘s are big. Bigger than Kiwi Crate and Wonder Box for sure.
BabbaBox sends a e-mail with a spoiler video every month, but I didn’t even watch this month, so I had no clue what to expect.
The September theme was Awesome Artist and I was super excited about all of the projects.

Project #1: An Impressionist Masterpiece. OMG, can I just tell you how excited am I about this project? I saw something similar at Bed, Bath & Beyond over the weekend and wanted to buy it so badly. But I didn’t. And now I am so glad. I want to do this project (myself) so bad, but I am going to let L do it. Hopefully he asks me for ALOT of help. I like projects like this a lot because it’s something I can save forever. And every time I look at it I’ll remember how much fun we had making it. Even if it turns out badly ;).
Project #2: Printmaking Factory: Make a “Pop-Art” T-Shirt. This is another project I am super excited about. I would never even think about attempting a project like this on my own, but for some reason the instructions make it seem easy. We’ll see if that’s actually the case though! The only issue is that, the t-shirt is a Youth M, so I am not sure who will wear it. L will grow into it eventually I suppose.
Project #3: Land Art. This is going to be L’s favorite project. It’s kind of a free for all. He can make whatever he wants. No instructions or rules. After all, it’s art!
The Book: The Magical Garden of Claude Monet. I think we all know about my love for children’s books, so I love that BabbaBox includes a book that matches their theme every month. Again, this is something we will have forever, which justifies the price of the box.
Digital Connect: Art Puzzles App. I didn’t notice the app card in last month’s box, so I need to go back and see what it was. I love that it includes a free app (you have to e-mail them for a code) because L loves his iPad and an educational app every now and then never hurt anyone!
And finally, The Gift: A Calligraphy Pen. I thought I only got a gift (the wine stopper) last month because it was my first month subscribing. Wrong. It appears that you get a gift every month. SCORE!
I totally totally loved this month’s BabbaBox and I know that L will too. I cannot wait to get started on all of these projects. First up is the Impressionist Masterpiece!

Are the apps all for the iPad or are they for the iPhone, too? I saw the October app was for the Monkey Preschool Lunchbox one. Ava has it for the iPhone and she lives it. I think she’s a little past it’s skill level bug she still enjoys it.
I believe they work on both!
