Socialbliss March 2015 Subscription Box Review

Socialbliss March 2015 Subscription Box

Style Box by Socialbliss is a fashion, lifestyle and accessories box. Boxes contain items which may be featured on the Socialbliss site, along with others that are emerging hot items not yet available to the public. Boxes are $47.90 ($39.95 plus $7.95 shipping) and promise a monthly value of at least $100.

Socialbliss March 2015 Subscription Box Review

The Box

Socialbliss ships via USPS Priority Mail around the 20th of the month. This month was a little later than the 20th and I was getting a little worried that it wasn’t coming, but it appeared.

Socialbliss March 2015 Subscription Box Review

First Look

Socialbliss boxes usually have an information card with product details, a bit about the monthly theme, etc., but the March box didn’t have one. At least my box didn’t anyway. I’m not quite sure what’s up with Socialbliss actually. They used to be quite active on Facebook and Instagram and would do contests and spoilers and coupon codes, but there hasn’t been anything lately. Anyway, here is what the March 2015 Socialbliss Style Box contained:

~MMS Design Studio Fringe Bag ($29.99): I couldn’t find much about this bag online, however, I did see that it was once sold in teal on Zulily for $29.99 so I went with that price. I love the shape of this bag and i think it’s one of the cuter ones that they have sent out.

Socialbliss March 2015 Subscription Box Review

The Bag

~Justin & Taylor Necklace & Anklet (~$20): I can’t find any details on this brand online either. The longer piece is a necklace and the short is an anklet.  I can’t remember the last time I wore an anklet, but for all I know they are super in right now?  Anyway, theses are cute.  They didn’t wow me, but they aren’t crazy wild either.

Socialbliss March 2015 Subscription Box Review

Justin & Taylor Necklace & Anklet

~Foot Petals (~$5): I think these are foot petals anyway.  My only other guess would be totally different and not something I would expect them to send.  But I suppose you never know!  This is where an information card would come in handy ;).

Socialbliss March 2015 Subscription Box Review

Foot Petals

~Wrap / Scarf Jacket (~$20): We received a somewhat similar piece in the June Socialbliss Style Box.  It’s a jacket type wrap, but you wanted you could probably work it as a scarf. I’m kind of thinking this would make a cute beach cover up.  Otherwise I would have to figure out how to wear it as a scarf because I am not feeling it otherwise.

Socialbliss March 2015 Subscription Box Review

Wrap / Scarf Jacket

All totaled I came up with an (estimated) value of about $75 for the March 2015 Socialbliss Style Box.  While I liked the bag I wasn’t wowed by much else in here.  I have some credits to use up on Socialbliss otherwise I would probably cancel this box.

Friday’s Letters 7

Dear MSU, I’m so ready for the game tonight! Again, let’s not make this a close one. I should be used to this by now, but I never will be!

Dear Groupon, Your “Banana Bunker” post on Facebook yesterday?  Stop it.  I was dying.

Dear L, I am so glad you are feeling better!!!  And I think you are even happier about it than I am!

Dear Giant Giraffe at Home Goods, I can’t believe no one has bought you yet.  It’s been weeks and weeks. And yet you remain.  If you go on Yellow Tag Clearance I might just have to rescue you. No idea how I would get you home since you are about 9 feet tall, but it’d fun to watch me try to cram you in my car!

Dear The Longest Train Track Set-Up Ever, I can’t help but wonder how long you are going to remain up in my hallway?  I’ve tripped over you about a dozen times so far, yet the kids insist you remain up.  I should probably just get used to you!

Dear WB,I would love to know how you not only found videos of people unboxing toys on YouTube Kids, but also why you are so interested in them?  I just don’t get it.

Dear Coca-Cola, Do you really work as a hair treatment?  I don’t know, but I am certainly going to find out.

Dear My Sock Drawer, Why were you such a mess? Oh I know why.  Me. But I finally realized that my plan of saving all the socks till they could be reunited again didn’t work.  The socks never reappear once they are lost.   Ever.  You look way better now!

Dear Frozen, Thank you for being the one movie that my kids can always agree on and will always sit nicely together and watch.  I owe you one Elsa and Anna!

Dear West Virginia, Did you know there was a game last night?  I bet you’d like a do-over on that!

Petit Vour March 2015 Subscription Box

Petit Vour is a monthly subscription box of cruelty-free beauty products, hand-picked from businesses that align quality with progressive standards.  Boxes are $15/month and they do an excellent job making sure that the value well exceeds the cost.

The Box

Petit Vour ships via USPS and takes only a few days to arrive.  Boxes ship in batches between the 15th and 20th of the month.

Petit Vour March 2015 Subscription Box Review

First Look

I had gotten a look at the March box and was quite excited to get mine.  There was one item in particular I was quite excited to see!

Petit Vour March 2015 Subscription Box Review

The Information Card

The March 2015 Petit Vour theme was “Spring Dreaming” and included the following all-natural pike to elevate your ritual:

~The Little Alchemist Cacao & Banana Face Glow ($32): I somehow missed that this was a powder and almost spilled it all over the place when I was opening it up!  Oops.  You add a teaspoon of this to your liquid of choice (purified water, honey, yogurt, ) and then mix up in a small bowl.  It’s recommended for use 1-2 times per week and you only have to leave it on for 10 minutes. I’ve only used it once but I was quite pleased with it.  It made my skin feel glowy and clean.  I used water to mix it this time but I can’t wait to experiment with some different bases for it!

The Little Alchemist Cacao & Banana Face Glow

~Juice Beauty Stem Cellular CC Cream ($11.47): This has been in a few different subscription boxes and I have always liked it.  It blends into my skin nicely, but I am not loving the smell today. I don’t know if they changed it up, but I don’t remember it being so strong?

Petit Vour March 2015 Subscription Box Review

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular CC Cream

~Vert Mont Perfumery EROS Wellness Perfume ($5): I take back what I said about the Juice Beauty being strong smelling because this is STRONG!  It’s described as a “love potion” but I think it’s just too much for me personally.

Petit Vour March 2015 Subscription Box Review

Vert Mont Perfumery EROS Wellness Perfume

~Metropolis Soap Co. (MSC Skin Care) Lip Butter ($7): This is a lavender and spearmint scented lip balm.  Is it just me or have we been getting a lot of lavender scented items in subscription boxes lately?  It’s not a bad thing – just an observation.  I am already using this and have it on my desk right now.

Petit Vour March 2015 Subscription Box Review

Metropolis Soap Co. Lip Butter

All totaled I came up with a value of $55.47 for the March 2015 Petit Vour box.  And I was thrilled with it.  I am blown away by The Little Alchemist Mask and can only hope to see more from them in the future!

Wantable Fitness Edit March 2015 Subscription Box

Wantable Fitness Edit is Wantable’s newest subscription service. I believe this is my third box from them and so far I have kept at least one thing from each box. Each month your fitness editor will hand select 5 fitness pieces which you can try on at home before you buy. Item prices are based on your personal preferences but usually range from $20-$60 each. There is a $20 styling fee and you can keep the pieces you like (the $20 styling fee will be deducted from the cost of the items you keep) and return the ones you don’t. You are only charged for the items you keep and if you end up keeping everything you get a 30% discount on all the items (or a 20% discount if you keep 3-4 items)!

Wantable Fitness Edit March 2015 Subscription Box Review

Second First Look

This box looked quite promising!  I could see some pretty colors popping out and was anxious to see what everything was.

Wantable Fitness Edit March 2015 Subscription Box Review

The Information Card

My March 2015 Wantable Fitness Edit contained the following items:

~Nux Hailey Shorts (Metallic Grey) ($65): These are listed on the information card at $65, however, I found them online for $45. Not sure if it was a typo or what and if I was thinking about keeping them I would have e-mailed about it, but I knew right away these weren’t for me. These aren’t quite booty shorts, but close enough and there is NO WAY I could pull these off. Verdict: Returned.

Wantable Fitness Edit March 2015 Subscription Box Review

Nux Hailey Shorts (Metallic Grey)

~Climawear Majesty Runner (Blue) ($46): I love the color of this shirt and the material is a stretchy without being too stretchy and the fit is great, but there’s just something about it I don’t love. I don’t know if it’s the pattern or the combination of it all or what? I probably would have kept it if it had a hood though! Verdict: Returned.

Wantable Fitness Edit March 2015 Subscription Box Review

Climawear Majesty Runner Blue

~Climawear Dipped Depths Runner Pink ($46): I love every single thing abut this shirt. It’s longer and hits at the hips, the material is lightweight and also very soft and, well, it’s pink ombre.  What’s not to love?  Verdict: Kept.

Wantable Fitness Edit March 2015 Subscription Box Review

Climawear Dipped Depths Runner Pink

~Rebecca Michaels Turtleneck Hoodie Pullover Pink ($98): This is totally my style.  However, it’s Spring so do I really need a $98 hoodie right now? I kind of hope not.  Had I wanted to keep all of the other items I certainly would have kept this too for the discount, but since I didn’t it was an easy decision to send it back. Verdict: Returned.

Wantable Fitness Edit March 2015 Subscription Box Review

Rebecca Michaels Turtleneck Hoodie Pullover Pink

~Rebecca Michaels Ankle Legging Diamond ($70): Why do these have to be $70?  Ahh, I would so keep them if they were $30 or less.  Maybe even $40 or less.  But for $70? Nah. I will say that they are super soft, but not that soft… Verdict: Returned.

Wantable Fitness Edit March 2015 Subscription Box Review

Rebecca Michaels Ankle Legging Diamond

All totaled my pieces had a value of $325.  Had I kept them all it would have cost me $227.50 ($325 – $20 styling fee – $97.50 keep all 30% discount) or about $46 per piece.  Not a crazy price point when you break it down like that, but I still think it’s high.  I would love if Wantable offered even 10% or 15% off you kept just 1 or 2 pieces too!

Do you subscribe to Wantable?  If so, what’d you get in your box (fitness, makeup or accessories or intimates) this month?
