About Me

Let’s start at the beginning. My name is Jennifer. I was born in the Midwest and never left. Well, I go on vacation and stuff.  I am not a total loser.  Even as a toddler, I had an amazing sense of style. And, it appears, that I also had goat ears. Thank goodness for plastic surgery.

My childhood was totally normal. No Jerry Springer episode here. Lots of friends. Fun vacations (No Dad, I’m not talking about those trips to historical sites in the 90 degree weather). A dog named Huey. We had a station wagon. Then a mini van. We’d come home from school to freshly baked cookies (regardless of what my brother says, this really happened. a lot.). My parents are still married. 41 years. Amazing.

High school was fun.  But, we did not have digital cameras back then.  And we didn’t have cell phones glued to our ears and weren’t texting non-stop.  Seems almost prehistoric looking back.

College was even more fun.  I didn’t make the mistake of studying too much, but somehow I made it out in 4 years.

After I graduated from Michigan State University (GO SPARTANS), I landed a job quickly and bought a condo. Lived the single girl life. Bars, vacations, first dates, you know the drill. And then one night at the bar (where else?), I met the one (aka Bryan). We exchanged numbers. We’d probably known each other 20 minutes in this picture. He called the next day. And the rest is history.

We got married in the fall of 2006. In Cabo. It was beautiful. I wasn’t interested in getting married. I just wanted to be married. I think you should get gifts if you can STAY married. Not just for getting married.

Bryan was in the Army back then. He used to wear this hot number every day. Every once in a while, I can talk him into trying it on for me. It’s rare though :( . Have I mentioned Bryan is 6 years younger than me? Must have slipped my mind. You can call me a cougar.

We have two dogs. Baxter and Buddy. Baxter is the best dog ever. He’s a shorkie. We got him in October 2006. We thought we’d get him a friend since we were planning on having a baby. Along came Buddy (a yorkie) in July 2007. Baxter still hasn’t forgiven us.

In May 2008, we were blessed with a son, Lucas. Is he not the cutest thing ever? We sure think so. When he was around 5 weeks old, I kinda sorta promised I’d buy him a car if he’d just sleep thru the night. Shortly after he did just that, and I’ve been saving for that car ever since. Lucas has his own blog, which is sort of under construction (e-mail me if you want to be on his reader list).  I want to turn “his” blog into a book for him one day. Which should explain why I have two blogs. I doubt he wants to read about how much I loved Jersey Shore when he was little.

In 2008 we moved out of my single girl condo and bought a house. Still working on decorating it. You’ll hear lots more about that here. Are you supposed to use “temporary” blinds for over 2 years? Because I have.

We try to do as much fun stuff as we possibly can. Art projects. Crafts. Outdoor fun. Bounce houses. Carnivals. Fairs. We do it all. We for sure aren’t the type of people who think vacations need to end and fun needs to stop when you have a baby. Lucas is a great traveler and is very easy going (for a 3 year old anyways). Being a mom is amazing!

While it really is all about Lucas, I have other interests too. I enter contests. Alot of them. And I win too. I watch reality tv. Jersey Shore. The Bachelor. The Real World. Teen Mom. Hardcore Pawn. Real Housewives of the O.C., Beverly Hills, New York, New Jersey (come on, I can’t watch them all). I’d like to think I can carry on a conversation with a three year old, a teenager and an adult just the same. I follow current events. I’m a mac. I read books. Real ones and e-books. I like love to shop. I love my iPhone. And Ranch Wheat Thins. And Pottery Barn.

And that my friends, is all about me. Of course, there is more, but this is my blog, so I don’t have to tell you that I have tattoo(s) unless I want to…….

    Hey Jennifer.

Came by to check you out after you stopped by Two Martini Lunch (thanks for that by the way). Loving what I am reading and baby Beyonce? Way cool. Oh and I had temporary blinds in my first house for about 4 years. In fact we sold the house before we ever got real window coverings. now I just have decorative curtains. You want to see in my house that badly – go ahead. Any way, new follower via bloglovin’. Looking forward to reading more!
