Stitch Fix is a personal styling service for women. With Stitch Fix, you provide your style, size (they also now do maternity fixes), and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. There is a $20 styling fee that is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces.  If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. And if you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything!  Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix.  You have a few days to try everything on and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid USPS return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.

The Box

My August 2015 Stitch Fix shipped via USPS out of Indiana and took just a few days to arrive.

Second First Look

I was loving this first look!  As you know you can return Stitch Fix pieces if you don’t love them, but I feel like I should mention that the pieces I have received always look brand new.  If other people have tried them on and returned them I would never know.

The Information Card
The Information Card

Each Stitch Fix comes with an information card which includes a listing of everything in the box, prices, and then a total of how much everything would be if you kept it all (it deducts your $20 styling fee and the 25% discount for keeping all of your items).  Just to give you an idea, my box had a merchandise total of $328.  If you keep one or two items it’s the price listed minus your $20 styling fee.  If you keep everything, you take 25% off the total and then deduct the $20 styling fee. Here are the pieces I received:

~Level 99 Ibis Straight Leg Jean ($108): Lots of people look incredible in white jeans, but I am not one of them.  Not by a long shot. I actually don’t think I have ever owned white jeans?  And I likely never will.  Verdict: Returned.

~Pixley Edmond Chevron Print Henley Shirt ($54): I keep going back and fourth on this one.  I like the print and the colors and the stretchy / soft material, but I don’t know how often I would wear it.  But it is really comfortable, so I am leaning towards keep.  Verdict: Undecided.

~41Hawthorn Montgomery Cross Front Knit Top ($48): When I first looked at this I was like they have to be kidding – who could wear this?  But it actually covers much more than the first picture shows (I tried to show it better in the second picture).  It clings to your body and isn’t as risqué as I first thought.  Still, I don’t love it.  The pattern is cute and I love the white and navy, but it’s a little expensive for what it is. Verdict: Returned.

~Crescent Eameda Crochet Hem Top ($54): I love this!  It’s not something I would have picked out on my own, but it’s fabulous. The aqua color is incredible and it’s casual and comfy, but still really really cute. Verdict: Kept

~Loveappella Sevilla Funnel Neck French Terry Sweatshirt ($64): This is totally 100% me and I LOVE it. Don’t tell Stitch Fix, but I would have paid more for this one.  It’s cozy and heavy and I can’t wait till it’s chilly enough to wear it. Since I am in Michigan and the weather changes constantly here, I could be wearing it tomorrow.  You just never know.  Verdict: Kept.

Cute fix! I like the ones you kept definitely! I also like the blue and white, I bet with a cami underneath it would be perfect! The one you’re undecided on, it’s adorable, but seems a little pricey if you’re not sure about it. Just my two cents 😉

I have that Pixley shirt and I love it! I know your undecided on it, it’s really a beautiful shirt and so soft! I can’t wait till fall comes to wear mine. It’s been in the 90’s where I live so I haven’t gotten to yet. Also I love that French Terry Sweatshirt! If I ever got that I would defnitley be keeping it as well, it looks so cozy!

Cute stuff! I tried SF twice and did the Pinterest board, notes to stylist, etc. I was really specific that I didn’t want anything with polyester in it. Three things in both shipments had polyester! So disappointed. So I am done with them. Are you receiving a lot of poly items?

Loved your box and your review was very helpful. Would love to see the clothes on you? It really helps to see them on a real person. Loved the shirt you kept!
