Second First Look

I haven’t been overly thrilled with Socialbliss  in awhile, but I still have some credits to use up, so I have continued to get the boxes.  This first look was okay, but not incredible by any means.

The Information Card

The June 2015 Socialbliss  Style Box theme was Resort Wear and was inspired by contemporary resort and cruise wear that helps mix and match your look with an exotic flair.  Here is what was included:

~Handbag Republic Luxe-life Bliss Bag: This bag doesn’t scream “resort” to me at all. I don’t know what it screams, but it’s not resort.  I wouldn’t say I dislike it, but I also wouldn’t say I liked it.  Mainly because I don’t know where I would carry it?  I do like the tassel on it though!

~The Black Stone Onyx Necklace: We received a necklace very similar to this one in April.  Well, it was the same shape at least.  I swear I have this exact necklace, but I cannot figure out where it came from.  Anyway, it’s pretty and I will wear it.

~The Light Gem Bracelet: This is another piece where I know I got it from somewhere, but I just don’t know where it came from. I know we received a similar necklace recently, but I know I have seen this bracelet before. I like the white quartz stone, but I don’t know about how dangly this feels while on.  Maybe if it were in a stack with a bunch of others it wouldn’t move so much.

~Summer Sarong: This is very pretty and can be worn a ton of ways (as a scarf, as a dress, as a sarong, etc), but the pattern doesn’t scream resort.  It’s a good beach accessory yes and in a different pattern it would have been very resort!

I could’t locate prices (or even brands) for many of the June 2015 Socialbliss items so I was unable to do a cost breakdown on it.  Individually the items were okay, but I didn’t think they really went with the “Resort” theme.  Also, I need to do some digging, but I wear we had received the necklace or the bracelet in a Socialbliss box.  I totally would be wrong, but they look so familiar!

It doesn’t seem as though the items go together. Then again, I am not part of the resort crows.

I for sure didn’t think it was very resort’ish.

Style Quarterly (which was one of my favorites) will be ending their sub service. I wish that Social Bliss was more like SQ– I would jump right in! But this box seems kind of blah…

I just heard that a few days ago. I am so disappointed. They had a FANTASTIC box!

Maybe they misnamed the the box and it wasn’t supposed to be resort. Maybe they meant New York hotel? The items look nice and the scarf is really pretty but this is not a beach resort type box for sure.
