International Blessings states that their mission is to empower 3rd world artisans by selling and promoting their handmade products, which then helps to create sustainable livelihoods and eliminate poverty around the world. Their Box of Blessings will contain 3-4 pieces of jewelry or other handcrafted products made by impoverished people around the world.
Box of Blessings ships via USPS during the first week of the month and are only available to those in the US.
The actual Box of Blessings box is tiny, but they pack it full.
All of the products this month were handcrafted in Peru through Sanyork Fair Trade. Here are the items that were included in the April 2015 Box of Blessings:
~Cotton Headband: Perhaps not the most stylish headband I own, but I’ll use it when I wash my face. It doesn’t give me a headache when I wear it, so that’s a huge plus.
~Alpaca Silver Earrings: I really like the style of these earrings, but I don’t wear dangly earrings a ton so I will likely end up gifting them to a friend.
~Flower Bead Bracelet: This is easily my favorite item in the box! If I were to see this at a market on vacation it’s totally something I would pick up. It’s made from tiny wood beads formed into a flower pattern.
I couldn’t do a cost breakdown on this box because I couldn’t find prices for any of the items online. It breaks down to about $10 per item though which doesn’t seem unreasonable at all.
