PopSugar Must Have Special Edition Resort Box

POPSUGAR Must Have Box is an exciting monthly box full of fun, must-have picks across fashion, beauty, home decor, fitness, and more, which is delivered to your door on a monthly basis. Boxes include full-size products and premium items including tried-and-true classics, celebrity favorites, and brands consumers have yet to discover worth over $100!  On occasion, they also offer Special Edition one-time purchase boxes which are separate from the monthly subscription. This is the POPSUGAR Special Edition Must Have Resort Box which sold for $100.  2015 was the second year they offered a resort box (you can check out the 2014 box here) and it sold out in a few weeks.

The Box

POPSUGAR ships via FedEx Smart Post.  They have two shipping locations (one in California and one in New York), but as a general rule the Special Edition boxes ship from California.  This wasn’t the case for the Target + POPSUGAR Must Have Box, but the Resort box did and took about a week to get to me.

Unlike the monthly boxes the special edition boxes arrive in a brown cardboard box with a fancier black box inside.  I knew all of the contents of this box, but for some reason I expected it to be bigger?

All of the items in this box arrived individually wrapped in tissue paper.  Spoilers are fun, but it’s even more fun to unwrap everything and see it all in person.

The Information Card

The (2015) POPSUGAR Special Edition Must Have Resort Box included the following items to help make packing painless for your next trip:

~Stephanie Johnson White Dot Train Case (POPSUGAR Exclusive) ($80): I think the reason I thought the box was going to be bigger was because I thought this would be larger.  I’d measure it if I could find a ruler, but I’d say it would take up about half of a monthly POPSUGAR box.  It’s a good size for a makeup case though and I love the hot pink interior.  It has elastic straps on the inside to help store your items and the lining is coated in plastic so you can easily wipe it clean.  I totally love it!

~Jane Iredale My Steppes Makeup Kit (Warm) ($58): This set includes two lip glosses, blush and bronzer all in one fancy compact.  It’s even more gorgeous in person than it is in pictures and the colors will work perfect.  This is another win for me.

~Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum ($80): I have never heard of this brand before, but I am already obsessed with the name.  It’s recommended to be to used daily in the morning on your face, neck, chest and to the back of your hands.  I’m not using a day serum right now so I’ll add this in and see how to goes.

~Lele Sadoughi Half Moon Pendant (POPSUGAR Exclusive) ($110): This is exactly the type of piece I think of when I think of resort jewelry.  It’s simple, yet eye catching and will work with anything.  I also love that it comes in it’s own pouch to make for super easy packing.

~Jacobsen Salt Co. Pure Sea Salt Cocktail Salt ($14): I’m not going to bring cocktail salt on my vacation, but I will happily drink margaritas on my patio and pretend I am at a fancy resort.

~Sloane Stationery Passport Holder (POPSUGAR Exclusive) ($48): I have always wanted a fancy passport cover but never ended up buying one.  I am thrilled I never did though because now I have this one!  I love it.  The interior is so soft and has a pocket for your passport and one for other travel documents you may need.

All totaled this box had a value of $390 which is insane since it “only” cost $100!  Now listen, I wouldn’t have paid $390 for the contents if I’d purchased them individually, but $100 for everything is a steal.  I think this might be the highest valued POPSUGAR special edition box to date (save for the Neiman Marcus ones)! I am very happy with it!

Did you get the POPSUGAR Special Edition Must Have Resort Box?  What’d you think?  As I mentioned it’s sold out already, but POPSUGAR just announced today that they are launching new special edition box!  The CFDA POPSUGAR Must Have Box is $195 and will be available beginning on 4.15.15.

If you want to purchase the monthly box head over to the POPSUGAR website and use the coupon code “MUSTHAVE5” to save $5 off your first box.  The April Box is already sold out, but you can get on the wait list to grab one if they happen to end up with extra.  Otherwise your subscription will begin in May.  And don’t forget I am giving away a POPSUGAR Special Edition Must Have Resort Box! You can head over here and get signed up to win this box!

Great box this time and I’m right there with you what could be bad with a name like Drunk Elephant. Love it.

This is one of the very few times that I’ve been excited by the spoilers and disappointed when it arrived. I think it’s because I don’t like the way the Drunk Elephant serum smells or feels… or looks. It’s brown, sticky and smelly to me 🙁 I’m probably going to try to trade all or most of the box. Might keep the necklace. Heavy, sad sigh.

Finally! What you got your box a week after mine?

Love this box. It really does speak “resort” to me. I’m headed to Palm Springs for a little vacation and the train case will work perfectly. Would I pay $80 for it? Hell to the no, but it is cute and I love it. The makeup might be a bit dark for my complexion but I’m going to give it a try (though I’m thinking it’s going to be so hot in Palm Springs I may not wear makeup LOL). Have not tried the serum…maybe it’s dark because it says it’s pumpkin? Love the necklace! Wouldn’t that look cute over a white bathing suit coverup? (I own one and this will look great with it!). The cocktail salt? Oh it will make a cute hostess gift with maybe some bitters to take to my BILs who are putting us up. Now the passport cover really isn’t needed for Palm Springs LOL but I will make sure I put it to good use the next time I leave the country (I may see if my husband who will be headed to Bolivia this year can use it, the blue is a bit bright so I don’t know if it’s “manly” enough for him :).

No, I probably wouldn’t buy any of these things separately, wouldn’t even think I needed them, but for a resort box, I think they did a great job this time.
