Hamptons Lane March 2015 Subscription Box – “The Pasta Box”

Hamptons Lane, who kindly sent me this box to review, curates an amazing monthly box of artisan foods, kitchen tools, and serveware for the food lover. Boxes are $47/month and are revealed at the beginning of every month. Boxes are created around a monthly theme, such as Southwestern Fiesta, Summer Cocktail, The Best of BBQ, Coastal Italy, etc. Unlike most subscription boxes, you can skip the box if it doesn’t interest you during the first five days of that month.

The Box

Hamptons Lane ships later on in the month, but I received my box early for review purposes.  It wasn’t open when it arrived, but we (WB and I) were so excited to see what was in it that we opened before I took the picture.

First Look

I thought the packaging on these items was perfect.  Shipping flour can turn into a disaster but the way they sealed this packaging was awesome.  I wasn’t worried at all about spills or a flour explosion.

The Information Card

The March 2015 Hamptons Lane theme is “The Pasta Box” and includes the following items to help you make pasta “the way nonna makes it” – with pure ingredients:

~TIPO00 Flour by Antimo Caputo ($5.99): I have never made homemade pasta (I believe B has though), but it appears that the secret is in the flour.  I actually believe we’ve gotten this in a subscription box before.  Maybe Mantry?  Regardless, I love pasta and hope we can make this over the weekend.

~Pasta Drying Rack from Weston ($9.99): We have lots of kitchen gadgets and tools, but we do not have a pasta drying rack.  Hamptons Lane always sends unique, but at the same time, useful items. We never have what they send!

~Squid Ink by El Jison ($3.98):Squid Ink!  You can use this to create a gorgeous black squid ink pasta by adding a few drops of this to your dough.  I think we’ll end up making some “regular” pasta and then some squid ink pasta!

~Trio of Ravioli Stamps by Eppicotispai ($21): Ohh, I love these!  You can use these to make any kind of ravioli out there.  Butternut squash, classic, truffle mushroom or even chocolate ravioli!  They are much sturdier than I was expecting and will last for ages.  I think the kids will love helping to make ravioli with these too.

~Black Truffle & Mushroom Sauce by Urbani ($9.95): I know we have tried this in the past, but I cannot remember what I thought of it!  It couldn’t have been too bad or I SO would have remembered.

~Tagliatelle Pasta Cutter by Eppicotispai ($6.95): This lets you cut perfect sheets of fresh pasta into tagliatelle (flat fettucine type noodles).  Again this is very well made and will be around for ever.

All totaled I came up with a value of $57.87 for the March 2015 Hamptons Lane box.  I thought it was a great box and I really think it’s going to inspire us to make homemade pasta more often.
