January 2015 Yogi Surprise

The January 2015 Yogi Surprise box is here!  I won an annual subscription during a referral giveaway they had before they launched which is awesome because I probably would have ended up subscribing to this one on my own.

Yogi Surprise is a monthly care package designed to complement your healthy lifestyle. Within each Yogi Surprise you’ll receive 6-8 full size products ranging from unique yoga accessories and natural beauty items to herbal tonics, organic snacks and super food essentials.  One subscriber per month will also win that month’s Yogi Surprise retreat. The January retreat location hasn’t been announced yet, but you can find details on past ones here.

The Box

Yogi Surprise ships via USPS Priority Mail and took just two days to arrive.  It generally ships a bit earlier in the month, but this month was a bit delayed.

First Look

I peeked at this month’s box on Instagram, so it wasn’t much of a surprise to see what was inside.  But I was happy to discover that the items all seemed to be full size.

The Information Card

The January 2015 Yogi Surprise theme was “Restore & Rejuvenate” and included the following items:

~Moon Valley Organics Rejuvenating Rub ($11.99): This run is used to fight pain and relieve minor aches after a long day.  It smells way better than most rubs of this sort, but it is SO hard to get out of the tube. I almost needed some of it on my aching hand after trying to squeeze it out.

~Next Organics Organic Dark Chocolate Cherries ($5.50): I am not a big fan of cherries, but L is and he approves.

~Lotus Moon Hydro Therapy Eye Massage Treatment ($27.95): My eyes usually feel strained and tired and stressed, so I tried this out right away.  And it worked.  Unlike some rollerball eye stuff, this rolled on easily and it didn’t take much to make my eyes feel better.  Loved this.

~Scared Wood Essence Palo Santo Incense Sticks ($11): I guess this tree is supposed to have healing and restoring properties, cleansing energies and even health benefits.  I am not 100% sure how to burn them though.  What does on put these on / in?

~Betsy’s Best Bar ($2.99):These bars are soy, nut & grain free and are made from 100% organic ingredients.  I’ll be throwing this in my purse for an on the go snack.  ETA: I tried this and OMG it’s spicy.  I was not expecting that.  At all.

~Essence of Vali Sleep Soothing Mist ($8.50): This spray is to be used on the corners of your pillows and on your sheets to make your rest more peaceful and fulfilling.  I don’t know that it helped me sleep better, but it did smell nice so I will keep using it.

All totaled I came up with a value of $67.93 for the January 2015 Yogi Surprise.  I really liked that everything in this box was 100% new to me.  Before this I had never heard of any of the brands (at least I don’t recall them if I have) and I love that about subscription boxes!  It’s such a great way to find and try new items!

I don’t receive this box. I like the items in the review. I received an incense burner plate in the Escape Monthly India Luxe Box. It has notches for the incense sticks.

You can buy a terracotta incense burner/dish. If you know of any “bohemian” stores around you, I’m sure you could find one there. Or Amazon 🙂

I enjoy this box. They do send things im not familiar with. I like the rub because i just started my work out routine again. I used it last night on my legs. Woke up feeling great! I will try the insense tomorrow. I hope i can figure it out with out burning my house down. I do still hope for a little higher value in the future. Its a good value now but id be more excited over a better value.

Did you get the incense burned? How did you do it??

I did! I have a large open downstairs. I lit it for a few seconds until it flamed. And let it flame for a minute or two. And then gently blew it out. And let the smoke waft. It smells wonderful!! My kiddies even commented at the end of the day. So it filled the open space with that lovely aroma for the whole day. Which is nice. I hate winter dead air. I try to air my house out but its never enough for me in the winter. I felt all guru earthy and one with myself 😛
