My December 2014 Yogi Surprise, which I won an annual subscription to through a referral contest) arrived today!
Yogi Surprise is a monthly care package designed to complement your healthy lifestyle. Within each Yogi Surprise you’ll receive 6-8 full size products ranging from unique yoga accessories and natural beauty items to herbal tonics, organic snacks and super food essentials. One subscriber per month will also win that month’s Yogi Surprise retreat. The December retreat is to Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto (that’s in Mexico in case you don’t feel like googling like I had to).
Yogi Surprise ships via USPS Priority Mail and, once it shipped, it took two days to arrive. I got a tracking notification for it on the 5th, but it didn’t get picked up until the 8th.
I recognized nothing in the first look which I didn’t mind at all! I like finding out about new products and subscription boxes are an awesome way to do that.
The December 2014 Yogi Surprise theme was “The Gift of Giving” and included the following items:
~Booda Butter ($14): Ohh, I love this. It’s perfect for those rough spots on your elbow and knees and can really be used for just about anything else you could think of (rashes, razor burn, windburn, as a lip balm, etc.). Totally love this and I will probably end up trading for more.
~Essentials Living Foods Chocolate Covered Cacao Nibs ($4.99): I liked, but I didn’t love. To be honest, I would rather snack on chocolate chips, but these for sure work if you need a chocolate fix.
~Urban Moonshine Energy Tonic ($7.99): Okay, so I had no idea how to use this, so I went to the product website to see if I could figure it out. I thought you were just supposed to spray it on your skin or something? Nope. You spray it directly on your tongue or spray 14 sprays (which is equal to 1/2 tsp) into water. I never would have guessed that’s how it worked!
~Indian Tiger Eye Mala Beads ($18 per Yogi Surprise): These were supposed to come in the November box, but the shipment got delayed at the last minute so they were pushed back to December. Well, it turns out that not all subscribers received these in December either. From the sounds of it on MSA, some of the people who just recently subscribed are getting a full-sized Cardamom Rose Mate tea tin (a $10 value) instead. I think we all know that I am quite happy I did not get the tea!
~Angel Rejuvenation Spray Facial Fist & Aura Cleanser ($22): Now this spray you do use on your face or you can use it as a pillow spray too. I am going to spray mine on my pillow as it is supposed to help you unwind after a long day and encourage more peaceful rest and meditation. I could use all of those things.
~Skout Organic Raw Pumpkin Seeds ($4.49): These will be a snack for B! I’ll keep the cacao nibs and he can have the pumpkin seeds ;).
~Yogi Surprise Organic Cotton Yoga Strap ($10 per Yogi Surprise): I have never used a yoga strap, but I am for sure going to look into it. The information card suggest checking out the Yogi Journal to learn more. Will do!
All totaled I came up with a value of $81.47 for the December 2014 Yogi Surprise box. I think this was my favorite box from them to date. I do really hope that they can get their inventory issues figured out as I am guessing that if you subscribed in December (or November) specifically for the beads, you probably are not too happy if you got tea instead!

I nearly cancelled because i strongly dislike inventory issues and substitutions. However, i thoroughly enjoyed this box! So far i have found some great products that im in love with. I actuallydid spray the energy mist on my skin. Haha i quickly noticed it was meant to be sprayed in my mouth but because im too lazy to look it up i sprayed quite hesitantly and closed my eyes. I used it today and felt great tho and only did 5-7 sprays. Its awesome i want more!!
If I were a subscriber, those beads are fug so I would have gladly taken the tea tin!! I also bet that Booda butter would be amazing for pregnant women wanting to prevent stretch marks!
Lol sorry, is it bad karma for me to call those beads ugly?
LOL!!!!!! I’ll take the beads over the tea any day! No tea for me!!
