My December 2014 Stitch Fix, which is a personal styling service for women, arrived yesterday. With Stitch Fix, you provide your style, size, and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. There is a $20 styling fee that is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces.  If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. And if you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything!  Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix.  You have a few days to try everything on and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid USPS return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.

The Box

Stitch Fix ships via FedEx.  My box generally takes under a week to arrive to me and ships from San Francisco.  If you sign up for monthly Fixes, they will automatically ship every 4 weeks or so.

First Look

My first thought when I opened it was that someone had broken into my box and taken something.  Everything is usually so neatly wrapped and perfect so I thought something was wrong.  Happily all was well and the paper must have broken because it was so tightly wrapped.

The Information Card

Stitch Fix comes with an information card which includes a listing of everything in the box, prices, and then a total of how much everything would be if you kept it all (it deducts your $20 styling fee and the 25% discount for keeping all of your items).  Just to give you an idea, my box had a merchandise total of $366 and had I kept everything, I would have had to pay $258 (plus my $20 styling fee).  In comparison, my November Fix would have been $307.50 to keep everything.

Here are the pieces I received:

~Renee C Marvin Asymmetrical Button Front Cardigan ($58):  I rarely meet a cardigan I don’t like and I LOVE this one!  I like the asymmetrical buttons, the color, the fabric, the price, just everything!  Verdict: Keep.

~Fate Bree Striped Split-Back Mixed Material Sweater ($74): I am not sure about this one.  I like it, but I don’t $74 like it.  I like the stripes and think that the back is cool, but I think the price is a bit too high.  For $44 I’d keep it.  But for $74 I will pass.  Verdict: Returned:

~41Hawthorn Berneen Diamond Print Knit Dolman Top ($58): I like the stretchy fabric and I love the pattern, but I’m not a fan of the cut.  Actually the cut isn’t a fan of me ;).  Verdict: Return.

~Market and Spruce Trinity Waffle Knit Sweater Tunic ($68): I got a sweater almost this exact same color / material back in September and returned that one.  I’ll be returning this one as well.  It is not me at all.  The material is too thick for me, the cut is wrong for me and I don’t love the wide neckline.  Verdict: Return.

~Level 99 Kris Skinny Jean ($108): I like these jeans and think they would be great in the winter with boots, but I already have a similar pair.  Verdict: Returned.

This month’s Stitch Fix was okay.  As long as I keep one item from each box I’m happy.  And it’s probably for the best that I don’t love everything in my fix every month!  That wouldn’t be good at all ;).  Still, I am going to do a little profile tweaking and see if I can’t get some more cardigans!  LOL!  Does / has Stitch Fix ever done shoes?  I wouldn’t mind getting shoes in my Fix one bit!

I love the cardigan! My Fix is coming today, I can’t wait to try the stuff on.

I ordered this month for the first time and thought I’d share that mine shipped from Indiana and came USPS Priority only taking 2 days. Since I’m up in Bay City I’m surprised yours didn’t ship the same way! Maybe they are just trying out something different with new customers? Anyways, I kept a dress and pair of jeans from my box and spent way more than I planned! Haha! I requested a festive pieces for our family Christmas Party but wanted it to work for other occasions too. They delivered with a lovely green dress I can see myself wearing year round. I’m very much looking forward to my next box in Jan even if my budget isn’t! 😉

I got my first fix yesterday & mine also included that Bree top. I thought it was really cute, but totally agree with you on the price. The other items I liked were a bit too tight across the bust though so I couldn’t keep them. So I ended up keeping the Bree top. I would have LOVED that cardigan though.
