Bestowed, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a monthly subscription box that offers 5+ amazing nutrition and lifestyle products delivered to your door every month – each one hand picked by celebrity nutritionist and author Heather Bauer. It’s $20/month and delivers around the 15th of the month.

The Box

Bestowed ships via DHL Global Mail.  My box took quite a while to arrive this month – over a week for sure.  Sometimes DHL surprises you and shipping is fast, okay most of the time, it is not.

First Look

Loved this first look!  The box had lots of products in it and it looked to be things I wanted to try.

The Information Card

The October 2014 Bestowed Box included the following non-GMO products in honor of non-GMO month:

~Crunchmaster Multi-Seed Crackers: These crackers are good.  I have had them a few times and have always liked them.  Of course they are even more delicious with say peanut butter on them, but they are good alone as well.

~FiberLove Bar: The cinnamon raisin one was okay, but I loved the peanut chocolate chip one!  That made a very good afternoon snack.

~Hooray Puree Spinach: At first I thought, no way, I am NOT using this. But after reading a little more about it, I want more.  LOL.  Seriously.  You can use it in brownies or muffins in place of oil, add it to your morning smoothies – basically whatever you think of.  I am totally into sneaking some veggies in whenever I can so this rocks.

~Little Miracles: There is a lot going on in this drink.  Maybe a little too much for me.  It was fun to try, but I don’t think that it will be replacing my morning coffee.

~Numi Tea Indulgent Chocolate Tea Sampler: This smells good and I am sure B or my cousin will enjoy it.

~Peeled Snacks Cinnamon Apple Clusters: I just got these from Abe’s Market last week and they are fabulous!  I was so excited to see more in this box and now I want to try all the flavors.

~Sugar-Free Glee Gum: This has appeared in a few boxes here and there and while I am not a fan of gum, I do love the packaging.  And B likes this gum, so it’s a win.

I didn’t do a cost breakdown on this box, but it was definitely one of my favorite boxes from Bestowed.  It had lots of great goodies in it (some new, some old) and lots of variety as well!

I only paid a little over $11 for this box, so I was happy with it (plus no fish oil cookies this month). But I’m not going to continue when my subscription is up — the value is just not consistently there. The fiber bars were sample-sized, not full-sized, and the cracker bag was pretty tiny. I think UrthBox has been my favorite food box — the products are usually pretty big and I feel like the value is better.

I did use the spinach puree. I put it in a smoothie with a lot of other stuff. Couldn’t really taste it (which is a good thing). But it’s just as easy to buy frozen spinach and do it that way.

My Urthbox is MIA. Well, I guess it’s not MIA, there was a shipping label printed and I got tracking, but it’s just sitting there. No one has picked it up yet. This was about two weeks ago!

You should check with them. They always do print the labels a few days before anything happens, but I’ve never had any of their shipments take that long. Their CS turnaround time is OK, usually within a day or maybe 2 days, max.

I don’t know if the different types of boxes ship at different times, though. I get the vegan one.
