Eeek! Yay! My August 2014 PopSugar Must Have Box is here! As usual I have been stalking PopSugar this month and have been tracking it like crazy and here it is.
If you aren’t familiar, PopSugar Must Have Box (which is probably my favorite box ever) is an exciting monthly box full of fun, must-have picks across fashion, beauty, home decor, fitness, and more, which is delivered to your door on a monthly basis. Boxes include full-size products and premium items including tried-and-true classics, celebrity favorites, and brands consumers have yet to discover worth over $100!
As usual PopSugar ships via FedEx Smart Post and took about a week to arrive. This mont, however, they shipped one of my boxes from New York and one from California. Usually they both ship from New York. Anyway, the New York one is here and the California one hasn’t even left yet. My cousin lives in NYC and her box shipped out of CA this month which makes no sense at all!
I didn’t really have any “must have” preferences in the variations this month, but I certainly was anxious to dig in and see what I got. Just in terms of eye appeal I thought this was a great first look. Lots of different colors popping out.
The August 2014 PopSugar Must Have Box was inspired by “Celebration”, “Sweet Smells”, “Sexy Skin”, “Happy Treats”, “Beach Days”, “Summer Nights Out” and “Shiny Accents”. Here is what was included:
~Kendra Scott Elle Earrings (Slate) ($52): I am not 100% sure on these yet. I may keep them. I may trade them. I may gift them. They are gorgeous, but I am not 100% sure how often I would wear then? Note: People MUT also reported receiving the Kendra Scott Elisa Necklace in Black Cat’s Eye instead of the earrings.
~PaddyWax Ocean Tide + Sea Salt Mini Jar Candle ($10): I like this scent even better than I like the Gardenia + Tuberose PaddyWax candle that I got in my Nicky Hilton Fancy Box last month. And I really liked that one! But this one is better. And it matches my office! Score!
~Goodbyn Small Meal Box ($6.50) + Goodbyn Dipper ($1.49): I am obsessed with Goodbyn containers and am super excited that this is purple because I don’t have this color. I use them daily during the school year for L’s school lunches / snacks and I pack snacks for the kids to take in the car, park, whatever in them now. They seal super tight and I have never once had a problem with them leaking. I highly recommend.
~The Mason Jar Cookie Company Festive Celebrate Cookie Mix ($12.99): Umm, love. This is the perfect activity for the kiddos and I. This is also the coolest little mason jar pouch ever. When I saw the pictures online I thought the pouch was actually clear. Umm, it’s not. I have no idea how I thought it would all stay perfectly aligned while it shipped, but I did.
~Lollia At Last No.17 Perfumed Shower Gel ($22): Ohh, I love me some fancy shower gel. I do not buy $22 a bottle shower gel, but you better bet I will happily use it. And feel fancy doing so. I love the smell and might even try to trade for more of this.
~Bite Beauty Lush Fruit Lip Gloss (PopSugar Pink) ($22): When I first saw the picture of this on Instagram I thought it was the Bite cinnamon plumping lip gloss, but this is better! Love the color, love the formula. I am putting this on my “To Buy” list in some other colors.
~thinkThin Brownie Crunch High Protein Bar ($2): I don’t buy these a ton, but I do like them. I actually just bought the Salted Caramel ones from Kroger yesterday and they are really good.
All totaled I came up with a value of $128.98 for the August 2014 PopSugar Must Have Box and I loved it. Even though I might end up gifting the earrings I still think that this ranked right up there as one of my favorite PopSugar boxes to date.

Love this month’s box! I think the cookie mix is the coolest, and the packaging is by far one of the best that I’ve ever seen. It almost looks like a melted mason jar–like one of those crafts where you melt wine bottles down to act as a serving tray.
I am obsessed with those cookie pouches!!!! I need to trade for lots of these so my kiddos can each get their own pouch to make 🙂

I got my box and I love it! I got the earrings in silver and was so pleased to finally have PS send out some jewelry in silver (I don’t look good in gold.) I usually don’t wear earrings, but I’m going to give these a try, they are simply lovely. However, my favorite item in the box is the cheapest (not the bar) I love the lunch box. It fits my work lunch needs perfectly. The bentgo box from a few months back was very fancy, but not practical because it didn’t seal and the top two compartments were too small. This box seems perfect.
The candle reminds me of the scent “Ocean” from Pier 1 Imports, smells great.

Oh dear, I have to pick one? I am torn, the Goodbyn container, the candle or the Bite lip gloss (I am a sucker for lip glosses). Seriously, this whole box looks like a win to me. I have yet to make the leap into a subscription. I absolutely adore some of the boxes I see from them and others just make me go meh.
The Bite lip gloss has to be my favorite! I love Bite products, but was not excited when it was first thought to be the cinnamon oil. Now that its actually a lipgloss, I am all over it! Can’t wait till mine arrives!

I think I am the only person that thought the cookie mix was going to be in some huge mason jar that I could repurpose. When I pulled out the pouch I was like…. ‘awwh…’ shoulder slump.

Candle
I think there are some differences in items (necklace instead of earrings, different colors of the mealbox) but I got what you got. Not my favorite box but far from being one I dislike. The earrings are out of the box for me but that makes me want to wear them more. The candle, lip gloss and shower gel are things I would probably not buy, but will definitely use. The little snack meal box came just as I was thinking I need to take hummus and veggies to work so that’s perfect. Will absolutely use both food items. No wow factor here, but new products to me that will be fun to try.

I got mine yesterday. I”m with you on the earrings, they are beautiful but not sure how often I’ll wear them. My husband needs to take me out more often to get good use out of it.
My shower gel leaked in the box and I emailed customer service. I already got a response back to send me a picture of the damage to help with their packaging. I’m hoping they will send me a replacement.

When I first saw the spoiler you posted I did NOT like the earrings, but now that I have seen the slate with silver I think I love them. They are not the every day kind of earring but they are much classier looking in slate versus the purple and gold.

My earrings were the slate + silver which I think looks much better than the gold! If you received the silver, I bet you’d want to keep them and wouldn’t be thinking otherwise.
My favorite item is the candle, though! I love it — and I LOVE the blue. Not to mention, the bag for the earrings is super soft and high quality to me. I want to use it for something. 🙂

I was very happy when I looked through it because I wanted some earrings, but… they are huge. I wear big earrings, hippie bohemian chandeliers and stuff, so I thought I could pull them off but nope. Visually too big, and they are so heavy they drag my earlobes down which irritates them 😐 . It’s too bad, I think the size/shape of them will not flatter a lot of people, but some of the smaller ones offered by the same company would’ve been just perfect.
I do like the box, I just went from loving it to only liking after trying on the earrings. I’ll probably subscribe again though cause I’m a sucker.

It’s a toss up between the lunch box, candle and body wash.
Side note, have you bought any of the MELT candles at target? A bunch of them are on sale, including a lemon verbena +sage scent I love but I’m not sure if they’re decent. If you have, do they create the same scent while burning? I’ve been… burned (tried, but not hard, to avoid that pun) by candles that smell good unlit but either stink or don’t release a scent at all when lit.
I don’t think I have ever bought one! How much are they are on sale for?
Like $5, normally $10 or $12. I’m really torn. I feel like I should go buy one since I probably will never see them again.. but if I only buy 1 I know I will love it and regret not buying them all.. and if I buy all of them then they’ll be duds and I’d have buyer’s remorse. If they had the scent as a diffuser I’d buy up their whole stock in a heartbeat.

Jennifer, so the Goodbyn sounds awesome! I have 2 boys (around the same ages as yours) so I guess that means I need to get a second Goodbyn now that school is starting. Nice to know it doesn’t leak, that always seems to be a problem. When you pack lunches for school, do you put the Goodbyn in his lunchbox or just send it “as is”? My son is starting 1st grade so he’s staying for lunch now, gotta be prepared!

I loved this box because it was definitely a mix of things that are “splurge” items that I wouldn’t normally buy myself, but will definitely use! My favorite item in this box is probably the candle. I want to love the earrings, but I’m kind of torn. Yours look alright, and I’ve seen some really good looking ones. But then I’ve seen some awful options!
After all that excitement, I got my box and in it was a necklace! No earrings! I was so bummed. I was going to swap, but it seems most everyone who got earrings got the gray-ish pair, which were not my favorite option. The bright side was that I sold the necklace on ebay for $45, so I can buy the earrings if I really need them.

I got this as my first ever sub box. I’ve been rolling you for nearly a year and finally took the plunge. I ignored spoilers for a whole, but finally looked at yours the other day. I was SO sad that the big ticket item was earrings. I don’t have pierced ears.

Have you tried the cookies yet? They weren’t awful, but I wasn’t too thrilled by them. Maybe I’m just spoiled by the ones I bake from scratch (#humblebrag 😉 )but J and I both that they were just kind of…meh.
I have not! I have been planning on making them for the last few days but I haven’;t gotten around to it yet. I know what you mean about from scratch cookies though. You can’t beat them!
