I posted a picture on Instagram yesterday of the Quiet Time Boxes in progress and a few people mentioned they wanted to see what was in them so I thought I would share.
If you aren’t familiar with the idea, Quiet Time Boxes are something I saw on Pinterest years ago and thought it was a great idea. Basically they are shoe boxes full of items your little one can work on when they are bored, when you all need some quiet time, etc. I did some for L a few years back and he loved them! He called them his “Be Quiet Boxes”. I swear he made that all up on his own. LOL.
For this years boxes, I filled them with projects and toys and books and crafts that the boys either have never seen or just haven’t seen in a long time. I will try to switch out the items every week or so that there is always something fresh in the boxes. I didn’t label them with the days of the week, but I plan to let each of them pick one every day of the week to play with. Here is what I put in them:

As you can see, some of the activities can be done independently and some are things we can do together! I am going to see how this round of boxes goes next week and determine if they need more / different items for the following week!

This is such a great idea. I’m going to have to dig around here and see if I can come up with something for the month that N is out of school. I’m wondering if I can maybe just do a big box a week with different things in it that they can pick from when they need a new activity. I have some stash and then we have things that we have never opened yet so I could put those in there to start. It will give us all something to do when the time gets and we are bored of each other. LOL Hmm of to think more about this one.
I’ve been thinking about it day and I think I’m going to make one and call it the Bored box. It was either this or make a jar with chores in it that they can pull whenever they tell me they are bored 😉 Not sure they will like that one as much. LOL
Ha! I love it!!!!! Maybe when the boys get older I will do that! It’s be a mixture of fun stuff and chores. You’d never know until you pulled one out!
L is dying to get his hands on the bins and dig through them!!!

those Look great. does WB know the flash cards, just look at them? my girls would end up throwing them every where, they work together to cause as much trouble/messes as possible. LOL (2.5yr and 18m)

I think this is a wonderful idea. My kindergartener is finished too. I’ll have to think about it and post back later what I put in the boxes.
