I always love Birchbox Limited Edition boxes so I was thrilled this week when they announced their latest box Limited Edition: Modern Mermaid.
If you haven’t heard of it, the Limited Edition: Modern Mermaid box is $44 and includes everything you need to channel your inner sea goddess.
Birchbox shop purchases ship via UPS and arrived to me in just two days. Which was incredible because I probably wouldn’t have waited much longer than that for it.
Inside the outer box was the actual Birchbox Modern Mermaid box. I took all these pictures outside with my sunglasses on, so forgive the color issues ;). Oh and I was so excited about this one that I even forgot to take a first look. Oops!
The blue tint I have going on the information card almost makes it look like I took the picture underwater! LOL! The Birchbox Limited Edition: Modern Mermaid box included the following items to help make your summer routine effortless, spirited and a whole lot of fun:
~Anastasia Beverly Hills Lash Genius Waterproof Topcoat ($12.16): I am not a huge fan of waterproof mascara, but this I can get into. It’s a clear mascara that you put on over your normal mascara to make it waterproof. I have never heard of such a product but now think it’s the most genius idea ever!
~Atelier Cologne Cédrat Enivrant Cologne Absolue ($7.88): Oh wow, I really like this. Like I really really like this. It’s described as a citrus scent with notes of lime with Moroccan cedrat (no idea what that is), juniper and mint. It’s fabulous. I’ll be saving my Birchbox points for this!
~Captain Blankenship Mermaid Mane Sea Salt Spray ($12): I really like how the spray works (I really just love all sea salt sprays because they give my normal straight flat hair some texture), but I am not sold on the smell yet. Maybe it will grow on me.
~COOLA Liplux SPF 30 Original Formula ($12): Love it. You will rarely hear any complaints from me about a lip balm. I actually put it on within two minutes of opening this box because I was so anxious to try it! My lips still feel smooth!
~RUFFIAN Endless Summer Collection – Nail Polish Trio ($26.50): These colors are exclusive to Birchbox and I love two out of three of them so I think that’s pretty good. The Endless Love (Pink) and Blue Lagoon (Blue) are gorgeous and while the Sahara (Sand) isn’t totally me, with some glitter I can make it work.
~Stephanie Johnson Mermaid Mirror ($22): How cute is this mirror?? I don’t even want to put it in my bag because I don’t want to hide it away! I want to be looking at it at all times. Do you think they make Tieks in this color? That would be fabulous on shoes.
~Vasanti Kajal Extreme Intense Eye Pencil in Electric Navy ($18): I am not much of an eyeliner fan, so I will likely trade this one away or gift it to a friend.

I got mine today, less than 2 days from ordering it! Very impressed. I absolutely love everything in this box (except the blue eyeliner is not for me) & the value is great! Unfortunately, I swapped the blue eyeliner before I realized it was $18 & swapped it for a $5 item. Haha oh well, at least I’ll use the new item. I’m in love with their Limited Edition boxes <3

I was really on the fence with this one. Birchbox has the best limited edition boxes! The mothers day box was my absolute favorite!… I like most of the stuff in this one, but I’m really not a huge fan of the nail polishes. Glitters and shimmers don’t work on me! And I’m a little scared of blue eyeliner. I really want to try the sea salt spray, the lip balm, and the mascara, though, so maybe I’ll win!

The product that I would love to try most in this box is the Atelier Cologne spray! It sounds fresh and summery, and perfect for muggy weather. I see you’ve got the estimated retail price as $7.88 and I thought its value was a lot higher at about $25. It must be a much smaller bottle than I originally thought it to be!

I’m loving the Coola lipbalm. I’m always looking for a new sunscreen lipgloss since my normal doesn’t have any and I love their other products so I would expect to love this one too.

My favorite was the fragrance for sure! That was a surprise for me, because I’m usually not into citrusy scents, so I didn’t expect to be too crazy about this one. But it was really nice. It smells a little more masculine than I usually go for but I like it!
The item I want to try most from this box is the mirror because it is literally so cute and the waterproof top coat as well because the idea of making any normal mascara waterproof sounds wonderful to me! Want this box so bad! I am in love with Birchbox’s limited edition boxes!!
The mirror is gorgeous! There’s not much to “try” there though; a mirror is a mirror. I definitely want to test out the Lash Genius product however. I am really curious about whether or not it really works!

I really enjoyed the one we got in the BG GlossyBox–and I don’t generally like rose anything–and thisone has a bunch of notes I DO like so… I’m totally game!

Oh man, that mirror is just darling. I do however love a good sea salt spray. The Not Your Mom’s Sea Salt Spray is currently my fav. I went back & forth on getting this box but I am really trying to hold off. I have got to start using my other samples from Ipsy & GB first….or try. =)
