SPARKBOX Toys, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a curated educational toy subscription service. It brings personalized / age-appropriate learning toys to children. With your monthly membership, parents will receive four high-quality learning toys selected by experts and tailored to a child’s developmental needs. When you are done with the toys, you simply send them back for more. Toys are sanitized and cleaned before being shipped to you and are all in fabulous almost new condition.
SPARKBOX Toys ships via UPS. The package also includes a return shipping label so that you may return them when you are done. Packages range from $23.95 – $35.95 depending on how long you want to keep your toys and how often you want to receive fresh ones. If you are late in returning your box, no big deal. Just return it when you are done!
SPARKBOX Toys hand selects toys for your childs age group, however, members are able to log into their account and select any toys SPARKBOX offers to be sent to them. SPARKBOX selected the toys for WB, who just turned two. I was a bit scared I would already have some of the things they sent, but it turns out everything was brand new to us!
Your SPARKBOX will include a welcome letter explaining how everything works, a mesh bag to store your toys in, information cards on the toys (a few of mine were missing and there was a note about that), as well as, a return label for UPS. Here are what toys I received:
~Plan Toys Gears & Puzzles – Deluxe: Items in the box was wrapped in individual brown bags and were in perfect condition. WB (and B) had a great time playing with this one. B was more into the gears and WB was more into putting the puzzle pieces together, so it was a good fit for both of them. I would love to know where I can get my hands on just some puzzle pieces like this. These are fabulous and I bet WB could spend ages creating new designs with a bunch of them!
~Plan Toys Hammer Peg: This was a huge hit. HUGE! WB doesn’t really use the hammer, but he is super into pushing the pegs back and forth. Every once in a while he will give them a good whack if he can’t get them right away, but he is more than content just to use his hands.
~Plan Toys Stacking Tree: Watching WB try and figure this one out was highly entertaining. He knew he wasn’t getting it right, so he’d take off a few pieces, put a few different ones back, look at it again, etc. It was so funny!
~Wonderworld Toys Musical Tree: When I took this picture I had no idea what on earth this was. Turns out it’s a musical tree and you can stack / wedge everything together and make fun music for it. It makes total sense now, but I was lost. I could have used an information card for this!
I will admit, when I first heard of SPARKBOX Toys a while back, I thought it was kind of silly. I mean why not just buy the toys and then resell at a garage sale / consignment shop. And then I got the box and realized how fabulous it would be to just be able to ship it back and not have to deal with reselling it all. It’s honestly probably not even more expensive to do it this way. It’s not like you get the price you paid at a garage sale anyway! And this was SO easy! WB couldn’t get his hands on this box fast enough. I think I am going to pick this one up for him!

We have multiple gear type toys here. My mom has one on the fridge that the boys love to build with. Such great building toys.

The concept would take some getting used to, but the quality of toys looks amazing and it seems really really convenient!
