March 2014 GLOSSYBOX

Yay!  My much (and I do mean much) anticipated March 2014 GLOSSYBOX arrived yesterday!  Ever since I heard the spoilers for this one I have been so excited to get it.

GLOSSYBOX is $21/month and sends you five luxury surprise beauty items to your door every month. I am a huge GLOSSYBOX fan and have been a subscriber for over a year now. The values of their boxes are always amazing and they have introduced me to a ton of products along the way.

The Box

GLOSSYBOX ships via USPS and seems to be shipping in batches.  Some subscribers got their boxes early last week, but mine didn’t arrive until yesterday and I know that some people’s haven’t shipped yet.

The GLOSSYBOX

I always save all my GLOSSYBOX boxes because they are just “too good” to throw away.  I use them to hold makeup I gift to friends and lately I have been using them to store overflow nail polish.

First Look

You can’t really tell anything from the GLOSSYBOX first looks, but it does show how nicely they package their boxes.  I remember how impressed I was when I received my first box from them and I am still impressed now.

Ahh, I loved it!  Great first look!!  I knew right away I would be enjoying this box.

The Information Card

The March 2014 GLOSSYBOX doesn’t have a theme, but they partnered with Alex and Ani this month, which is what had me so excited for this box.  Here is what was included:

~Alex and Ani Scent 7 Body Mist ($18):  This scent has “been created with the four elemental energies of earth, air, fire and water” and is suppose to encourage “emotional balance along with a sense of ease and comfort to the body and mind”.  It’s a stronger scent than I expected it to be so I don’t think I’ll use it as a body spray, but I could use some balance, so I’ll use it as a room spray.

~Alterna Haircare BAMBOO Volume Plumping Strand Expand ($4.45): This helps to add volume to your hair from the root to tip.  I really still need to get a haircut, so I think I will hold off on this until I really can tell if it works.

~Etre Belle Cosmetics Liplift Peel ($17.86): I wouldn’t buy this on my own, but I tried it right away to see if I could tell the difference.  It’s suppose to remove dead cells and refine the surface skin.  I couldn’t notice a difference when I looked in the mirror, but my lips felt tingly after?  Maybe that means it’s doing something?

~Nails Inc. Brook Street Nail Polish ($3.75): I am a complete sucker for tiny little bottles of nail polish and this is no exception.  Plus it’s a fun Spring color!

~Sisley Paris Black Rose Cream Mask ($28.59): No, seriously, this sample is valued at $28.  The full size mask is 2.1oz. and is $158.  No matter how fabulous this mask is (and fine I will admit it’s fabulous) I will not buy the full size! Although, I do suppose it’s cheaper than a face lift.  Right??

Bonus Item: Alex and Ani Charm Bangle ($28): This is probably my favorite item in the box and it’s the bonus item!  It’s no secret I love these (I have given them away in a few giveaways) and I was already browsing for more last night.

All totaled I came up with a value of $100.65 for the March 2014 GLOSSYBOX and I loved it  Fabulous!.  The box is $21/month, however I subscribed during some promotion so I pay only $17.85/month which is a steal.  Honestly they could have put just the bangle in the box and I would have been happy!

OHHHHHHH- you finally got your box before I got mine…I hope I get mine today. I cancelled PSMH yesterday my last box is April’s (and I have the Resort box coming) but my Glossybox I am keeping. I love, love love their boxes. I use them for gifts and as storage organizers in my desk and craft room. They are so sturdy and pretty 🙂 I also love, love, love their products.

    1. Jennifer

They put together a great box!

  2. Sindhu

Love that nail polish color! Can’t wait to get mine.

I for mine last week and had to laugh cause they sent me the wrong information card. It had all different products then what I got except for the bracelet and polish. Kinda wish I’d gotten the other stuff on that card since I never use bar soap which was in my box but I would have used the shower gel the card listed lol

    1. Jennifer

I really wanted that hand cream from Alex and Ani!

  4. tina

SO lucky…I’m jealous somehow I missed they were partnering with Alex & Ani would have loved to order that box.. 🙁

    1. Jennifer

Oh no! I posted about it a few times. It was a great box!

  5. Krista

I loved, loved, LOVED my box this month! I got the soap bar, which is also a bit strong scented for me (and I guess male, too–my kids say it smells like “man”), but overall was such an amazing box, especially for the price.

    1. Jennifer

Totally agree! I loved this month.

I got my Glossybox today and I have never been so glad that it comes in two boxes, because it rained here today and the outer box was completely soaked through. Thankfully, the inner box was dry and nothing was damaged. That being said my favorite item was the bangle. I love these bracelets, I have a few already and I don’t mind adding to the collection. I’m a little disappointed in the Sisley mask because I was expecting something bigger. I think this has been one of my favorite Glossyboxes!

    1. Jennifer

Isn’t it amazing that it’s worth so much? what bangle did you get??

      1. MJ

I got the swan one. Which I love! Another box that I saw, had a dragonfly charm. I wouldn’t have minded that one either. I wonder how many variations there were.

        1. Jennifer

I have only heard of three. Gold swam, silver swan and then the dragonfly. I forget if that were gold or silver.

  7. Elise Nelson

I’m super excited to get my box now! Although I think the bangle is the one thing I’m the least excited about…then again I just never wear bracelets. I’m very curious about this uber expensive face mask – makes me not want to even use it for fear I’ll mess it up lol.

    1. Jennifer

It’s like you want to use it because it’s so valuable, but then again, you don’t want to like it?..

  8. Carolyn

I was really disappointed in this box! I may be an exception, but none of the products were interesting to me. I got a soap instead of the spray, but I’m not sure I will use any of these items. 🙁

    1. Jennifer

:(. Maybe you can trade them???

  9. Mrs. L

Loved this box. I would have liked any of the other Alex and Ani except the body mist but I’m not really complaining. LOVE the bracelet!

As for any hair products…I’ve gotten so many over the past year that I have no idea what to do with them all (or if they are good for my type of hair). My hairdresser is having me bring all of them in the next time I’m scheduled and he will go over all the products and tell me which to use and which to give away. This is why I pay him the big bucks.

    1. Jennifer

Ohh, that is a genius idea about the products!!

  10. Shaniqua

I was given an Alex and Ani bracelet by my aunt but I can figure out how to open it. Or put it on rather. Is it supposed to be slip on.?

    1. Jennifer

      I just slip mine on.

  11. Heather

I got my box yesterday, and it’s the exact same as yours! I’m really happy with it! I don’t wear gold, I wasn’t a fan of the blue polish, didn’t want more hand cream or a BAR of soap, and didn’t want a lip crayon since I just use balm and only faintly colored gloss. I would have been trading almost everything.
I did get a dragonfly card with my swan bangle, but that’s no big deal. I love the smell of the body spray. It sort of reminds me of Aveda.

    1. Jennifer

I was really happy with this variation! I think it was the one I wanted most.

  12. Bethany

I just got mine (first ever) today!! Okay, so I totally love it. I got the hand cream Alex + Ani in the same scent, and I LOVE it. It reminds me of a spa. I also got the swan bangle. And I got this gorgeous blue nail color! And also… I got six items plus the bangle. I got a face cream that wasn’t listed in the info card. Maybe a fluke? I’ll take it! I was planning on just getting this one month then canceling, but now I’m not so sure! I loved this box! (I’m super excited about the Sisley stuff.. hope it works miracles!)

    1. Bethany

Just remembered I used a code for the face cream extra. I even knew about it but totally forgot!

    2. Jennifer

LOL! I am cracking up that you forget that you used a code! Is the face cream a good size?

      1. Bethany

It is! Well, it’s 0.5 oz but comes in a nice heavy jar. I really love the size of the Glossybox samples.
