~This week has flown by! I think it’s a combination of all my crazy Target shopping this week, L not having school and B being gone all weekend? I don’t know? It’s just been busy. B will be home tonight and I am quite looking forward to it!  We are going to have a nice Plated meal and just RELAX! And hopefully watch a movie or fold laundry together or something? LOL. Whatever. I consider that hanging out together ;).  I don’t *think* he has another National Guard sleep away drill for a few months so that’s good too!

~I have a BUNCH of boxes on their way including Fancy Food Box (I think that’s coming today), PijonBox, Mama’s Got Mail (I can’t wait to see what they do this month), Fabletics, PopSugar, Honest Co., PoochPax and FAIRtreasure.  And that’s what I know about (sometimes I forget).  It’s going to be a fun few days for sure.  And OMG, Stitch Fix is coming too!

~Okay, I mentioned about how I wanted to go out shopping (just for fun) on Black Friday, but this opening up on Thanksgiving craziness is just too much.  Midnight on Thanksgiving?  I can see that being fun.  But like at 8am on Thanksgiving?  No thanks (ha,ha).  I have some parades to watch.  Followed by some football!

~So B has Monday off (Veteran’s Day) and I am thinking of taking some time to do something just me.  I think B wants to do a 5K or something that day, but it should still give me a few hours.  But what to do?  My salon is closed on Monday so that much needed haircut is out, but maybe a mani / pedi?  Staying home and cleaning the storage room (this is my idea of a good time), what?

~I set not one, not two, but four separate iPhone alarms every day to get L up for school.  I have a tendency to turn my alarm off instead of hitting snooze and this kind of an insurance policy against that.  The final alarm goes off 10 minutes before we HAVE to leave for school and is a kind of, OMG GET UP AND MOVE FAST, alarm which thankfully we have never had to use.  Please tell me someone else does something similar?  Someone out there must!

~And finally, I don’t know if I ever mentioned it, but my Instagram feed is back on the side.  Removing it didn’t fix the blog issue I was hoping it would, so back it goes!

That’s it for now!  What’s on your mind today?

Please tell me you want to be my Black Friday shopping buddy! My mom is abandoning me for better company and better food in Louisiana, where we are from. So I completely understand, but I’m mad I have no one to shop with. 🙁

I wait outside of Target for it to open usually. I have not shopped Thanksgiving Day before.

    1. Jennifer

Ahh,what time did you go?? Like 4am?? That’s so early!

  2. Evelyn Amick

I set 5 alarms in the morning each 5 min appart!

    1. Jennifer

I love it!!! Mine are like 15 minutes apart I think. And I have one crazy one set super early. I have never gotten up that early. Ever.

Ohhh! I’m so excited to see all your reviews.. I’ve been stalking the Tyler Food Fancy Box! I really want to start subscribing to that! I’m thinking as soon as I get home I’ll sign up! My husband and i LOVE cooking/baking 🙂

    1. Jennifer

That would be a great one to try! And maybe a food delivery one??

      1. Leanne

I live in a horrible place named Jacksonville NC (well, right near there) and there is practically nothing around.. I mean there is a Target and they just got a Panera.. but I dont think the food delivery places come yet.. but I’m gonna definitely check them out. So far Plated won’t come to me 🙁

        1. Jennifer

At least you have a Target?..

EEEEK! my first ever Popsugar Must Have box shipped yesterday from California….via FedEx. Hopefully it will update tracking info today and show it being at my door step Friday!!!! So excited.

    1. Jennifer

It ships via FedEx Smart Post, so unless you live like right on top of a distribution center, it will be a few days. Mine takes about a week typically.

Going out late in Thanksgiving is the best way to shop. Target usually opens around 8 or 10, depending on the year, and they always have amazing deals. The only problem is you may have to stand outside for 30-60 minutes because the best deals on items they have lined up in carts for people to quickly grab. I scored a TV and 3 beats last year. Standing out in the cold is half the fun, and then you can always reward yourself with Starbucks if your target has one inside. 😀
I do the exact same with my alarms for school! I have 4 alarms all within 5-10 minutes of each other. I usually wake up around the 2nd or 3rd alarm, but every now and then i will ignore all four. Thankfully they are set so far ahead that I am not late when I do realize the time.

    1. Jennifer

I can’t imagine waiting outside!! I like to go later on Black Friday for some of the not so amazing but still great deals.

I love that other people set so many alarms well!

When I was in college, I had to put my alarm clock on the other side of the room as I’d turn it off in my sleep and miss my first class. Maybe try that?

Now that I no longer work retail, I love going shopping on Black Friday! But I don’t like the stores that open on Thanksgiving, as that was one of the few days we had off. Give the poor workers a couple of days off to spend with their families! What’s next, open on Christmas? 🙁

    1. Jennifer

I use my phone as my alarm clock, but I should think about getting an actual alarm clock as well!

  7. Elizabeth

The stores in MA can’t open until after midnight on Thanksgiving so we won’t have any of that shopping craziness. I love that they can’t make employees work that day, but we miss out on a whole day of sale shopping 🙂

    1. Jennifer

I think opening at midnight is early enough that day. People will be lining up way before that!

  8. Elizabeth

I just signed up for stitch fix last month, my first box is coming soon. I’m excited as well. I used the promo I got from the popsugar box. I can’t wait to see what you and I get!

    1. Jennifer

I went into my account last night and saw what is being shipped. I am not sure I am overly excited about any of the pieces, but I need to wait and see what it’s all like in person.

  9. Debbie

I have four alarms, i have one on my clock because i sleep though the sound, each i get a new one whith a different sound. Then i set my phone with three alarms 1 at the time i need to get up, 15 min later and the 10 mins later. Two out of my three kids set alarms the same way so that one of us will get up. I stopped shopping on black fri years ago, because of the crazy times they kept doing. When i first started they all opened up at around 6am, this is much better. Now i do cyber mondays so much easyer and the same great deals in your pj’s.

    1. Jennifer

I need to start setting L’s alarm clock!

  10. Elle

Omg I’ve been waiting all week to do this link up with you! Off to type….

And when you said “my salon”, I got really excited and thought you worked at one, but then I remembered you’re retired! You go girl!

    1. Jennifer

Yay! Thanks for linking up! Yes, my “retirement”. LOL. Something tells me that actual retirement is more relaxing than this though ;).

  11. Tabitha

A mani/pedi on your own sounds good. That totally makes me think I probably need to schedule something for myself.

Doesn’t everyone set multiple alarms? Lol! I set the regular alarm clock as well as 3 staggered alarms on my phone.

    1. Jennifer

I love that everyone does this!!!

  12. Susan

I haven’t shopped Black Friday in years. It’s too crazy for me, and I refuse to go on Thanksgiving. That’s just too much. I wait for cyber Monday. That way I avoid the crowds, and its shipped right to my door. As far as alarms, i only set one, but do hit snooze a couple times before I get up.

    1. Jennifer

I like to drive by the stores on Thanksgiving night when we are coming home from dinner and check out the crowds.

  13. Hilary Burdit

I also set a million alarms to get up for work each morning. I totally turn them off in my sleep and won’t ever wake up with just one!!! I think I usually set 3 or like 5 to 10 minutes apart and then I have that one last one 10 minutes before I need to leave that is the “if you aren’t up and dressed yet you better start to MOVE!” alarm. My bf thinks I am crazy, so glad to know I am not alone! I have enough trouble getting myself dressed and out the door, I cannot imagine having to get a little one ready also!

    1. Jennifer

I love that you have a “last call” alarm like I do! My husband thinks I am nuts.

  14. Nina

Im excited to see how the stitch fix works out! Ive read a few others reviews of them and the progression from box 1 to box 5 seems pretty significant! Im hovering over the button to try it out but im not 100% convinced it will beat out my target shopping trips!

Black friday is just too crazy! At least cyber monday you can shop in your pjs = )

    1. Jennifer

      Like peoples boxes get better?

      1. Nina

Yep! Just read your review so hopefully the feedback and pinterest help for you too! Seems like the more awkwardly slash unnecessarily specific you are the more they can help! I bet the next box’ll be awesome = )

        1. Jennifer

Totally!!! I will get super specific!
