Fair Treasure, who kindly sent me this box to review, sends fair trade items to your door each month. Their goal is to make it easier for everyone to explore the very best that Fair Trade products have to offer… and in turn, providing exposure and supporting the communities of people making these treasures.
Fair Treasure ships via USPS First Class and took two days to get to me in MI (they ship from MA). They ships in various sized boxes depending on what products they are sending that month. This month’s box was quite small which had be even more interested.
The first look provided me with no details of what could possibly be in the box. I never know what Fair Treasure us going to send. I have received jewelry, glassware, scarves, a wine stopper, a seashell dish, etc. It could be anything and I love that part of it.
FAIRtreasure doesn’t have an information card really. They do individual information cards on the products, so this one just has a little note along with some information on where to find them on social media. Here’s what this month’s box included:
~Greenola Lima Posts ($39.95): These earrings (although you’d never know it by looking at them), are made from These earrings are made from recycled, glass beer bottles, soda bottles, and medicine bottles which are harvested from local trash cans, local restaurants, and off the street in Bolivia. I thought these earrings were pretty and then I read the store and now think they are even prettier. So cool
~Maroma Gratitude Candle ($13): My picture doesn’t show it well, but this is a great sizes candle. This candle is totally gorgeous and I look forward to using some other candles up so I can use this one. Maroma provide sustainable work for many woman (and men) in India and is becoming a major source of fait trade employment in the region.
All totaled I came up with a value of $35.95 for the November FAIRtreasure box. FAIRtreasure starts at $30/month and would make a great gift for anyone who love fair trade and / or hand crafted items from around the world. It’s not the most valuable box ever, but I am so excited about the candle it doesn’t even matter!
