Carefree Crafts, who kindly sent me this package to review, is a monthly subscription service which delivers fun craft kits to your door every month (or a la carte).  They is perfect for preschool and elementary ages kids (aka L) ages 3-7. Subscriptions start at $17.95/month and contain five (or more) complete craft kits.

The Package

Carefree Crafts ships via USPS First Class mail and my packages always arrive pretty much the next day since I live quite close to where Carefree Crafts ships from.

First Look

Everything is packaged in a large resealable plastic bag with the crafts packed in their own individual bags.  We usually do all the crafts at once, but they make it easy if you don’t want to do that because nothing will end up mixed together since they are individually packaged.

The Information Card

The November Carefree Crafts theme was “Happy Thanksgiving” and L and I JUST did the products over the weekend.  They have been doing Thanksgiving activities at school , but this is the first time we sat down and talked about Thanksgiving in detail (this year) and I loved hearing his take on it ;).

~3D Thanksgiving Wreath: L assigned this product to me and it was probably for the best.  This had a LOT of glue dots in it, which while very neat aren’t super easy for little hands.  Had he done this one I would have pre stuck all the glue dots on the pieces for him or I would have just given him a bottle of glue and let him go to town.  I totally don’t mind the mess and would have just thrown a newspaper down.

~Pilgrim Hat: L did this one all on his own and was then shocked when I suggested he try it on.  LOL! I think he thought he could just make it and have someone else wear it.  Sadly for him WB was taking a nap when we worked on these so it was all him.  I’m not sure if we were supposed to use glue dots on this one or not, but L used the tube of glue that came in the package.

~Thankful Tree:  You were suppose to write what you were thankful for on the leaves first and then put them on the tree, but we did it a little different.  We put all the leaves on and then L started writing what he was thankful for.  He did quite well and was writing things like his Mama and Daddy, WB, his clothes and his food, etc.  I was impressed by his picks!  He’s a good boy ;).

~Gourd Turkey: I think this was L’s favorite of the bunch.  Maybe because it was like a little character or something?  Not sure but he loves it and was able to do most all of it on his own.  I think he even worked with a few glue dots on this.

~Paper Pumpkin: This craft could be done one of two ways.  You could either bedazzle your pumpkin or you could write what you were thankful for on the strips.  We opted for the writing what you were thankful for.  L had me write, but told me everything he wanted to include.  This turned out so cute and I think it would be super easy to replicate at home or in a classroom. Love this!

~Button Indian Corn: This was another all L project.  He saw the buttons and declared it was one he was doing!   This is another one that I love how it turned out and think that it would be a great one to do at school.  It took the glue awhile to dry (we used a lot), but it was totally easy and fun to do.

Their picks are so fun! I can’t wait till WB is old enough so he can join in!

Ours was different. No wreath or pumpkin instead we had a paper turkey and a pilgrim magnet that you put a picture on the head.

I should have mentioned that I think they do some of the things by age??

    2. We did customize the packages by age. We try to include easier crafts for 3-4 year olds. L got the more advanced package.
