Eeek!  My Best of Britain GLOSSYBOX arrived today! This was a Limited Edition GB that was offered a few weeks ago.  It was $40 and was a totally separate purchase from the monthly boxes they offer.

The Box

GLOSSYBOX ships via USPS and once it ships, it usually arrives fairly quickly.  At least it does for me.  But this box? Not so much.  It started off well and then sat in good old Fishers, IN for 5 days.  Once it was finally freed, it arrived quickly ;).

The Box in the Box (OMG LOVE)

While I did love the Dallas Shaw GLOSSYBOX box, this has quickly replaced it as my new favorite GLOSSYBOX.  Seriously.  A Union Jack GB!  Isn’t it fabulous?  I love it.

I’ve been stalking the GB threads over at MUT, so I did know what to expect from this box, however, everything was even more stunning in person.  This was probably one of my favorite un-boxings ever.  Everything was packaged so beautifully. I hated that I even had to open the tissue paper it was that cute.

The Foldout Information Card

Unlike the monthly GB’s which have an information booklet, the Best of Britain Box has a huge fold out sheet which tons of product information and prices.  I used prices from the internet and converted to USD when necessary, so my numbers might not match theirs exactly.  Here’s what was included:

~Helen É Cosmetics Lasting Lip Color (Raspberry) ($15.80): I am not a huge fan of lipstick, but my SIL is so this is fabulous. When I get lipsticks (I’ll keep the occasional one) I put them aside for her right away in an old GLOSSYBOX.  And she gives me items from her boxes she doesn’t need.  It works out perfect.

~Mitchell and Peach Luxury Hand Cream ($34): Oh my goodness this is amazing.  My hands are already getting dry so I could totally benefit from this now, but I think I am going to save it for the dead of winter when it gets dark at 4pm and my skin is cracking off my hands.

~Steam Cream All-In-One Natural Moisturizer for Face, Body & Hands ($18): I am already plotting my next Steam Cream purchase.  This stuff is fabulous. The fact that I got a plain tin doesn’t annoy me, it just makes me want to buy MORE because so many of the tins are OMGSOCUTE. I probably won’t use it on my face (unless it’s a dry skin emergency), but hands and knees and elbows for sure.

~MeMeMe Cosmetics Beat the Blues Skin Illuminator (Pearl Pink) ($8.69):  This reminds me of Benefit High Beam, which I LOVE.  It’s one of my staple products so having a sort of duplicate makes me excited.

~Nails, Inc. (Kensington Caviar Top Coat) ($10): Well if this isn’t fabulous, what is?  It gives your nails a wet / shiny look which I love PLUS it leaves nails dry to the touch in 45 seconds.  I’m redoing my nails this weekend and using this for sure.

~Batiste Dry Shampoo (Blush) ($3.99): I haven’t been using dry shampoo often lately, but I suspect come winter and my need to curl up in my bed for those extra few minutes will have me start using it again.  And this is a great size to keep in my bag for those mornings when I am running late which I appreciate.

~HD Brows Grow Baby Grow ($42.96):  I certainly don’t need to help my brows grow right now, but once I FINALLY fix them, I am guessing there will be some over-plucking happening that will nee to get fixed.  Never would I ever buy this on my own, but if it’s in the box, I will try it.

~Nail Girls London Nail Polish (White #1) ($16.59): I don’t know that I *need* another white polish, but it may inspire me to actually try to some nail art. I feel like polka dots might be the easiest to start with, but we’ll see.

~Flag Pouch: I don’t know how to value this since it’s a GB exclusive, so I didn’t even try.  I totally love it though and need to think of how I am going to use it.

All totaled I came up with a value of $150.03 for the Best of Britain Limited Edition GLOSSYBOX!  I think this was worth every cent of the $40 I paid for it and I wish they’d do a Limited Edition Best of Box with different countries each month.  Or at the very least, quarterly.

This box is long sold out (I believe they only had 500 of them and I think they sold out in 30 minutes), however, if you are interested in subscribing to GLOSSYBOX or want to get signed up for their e-mails so you can be notified of upcoming Limited Edition boxes, click here.

I wanted this one so bad but it was sold out before I could get it. It looks great!

That top coat looks awesome. The whole box looks so great.

I use my pouches for SO many things. The big birchbox one for this summer holds my power cord for my laptop when I take it to class. Maybe some technology doodads? ALSO the other thing I have been using pouches for is playset corralling! Like playmobil, littlest pet whatever, etc.

Totally jealous of this box. I had a doctor’s appointment the day they launched and by the time I finished they had sold out already!

Do you have a dotting tool? Or I guess people say that the end of a bobby pin works too. I just got a kit of dotting tools and brushes for my birthday and I am so stoked! I did ladybugs (just polka dots might have been easier!) and then a mani that used silver polka dots on white for one nail, blue glitter over blue on another, silver chunky glitter over silver polish on another, a little white heart over blue duochrome polish on my pinky, and a frigging penguin on my pointer finger! I think hearts might be even easier than polka dots at first. (You just do two dots together for the two bumps, then pull the dots downward toward each other to make the point!) But the penguin was even easier. It was the owl from this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGieIzwBYWE&feature=youtube_gdata_player But since I was using light blue and grey polish, it ended up looking like a penguin instead!

I frigging love YouTube nail art videos, especially that lady’s. It’s like those old drawing books everybody in my class loved when we were kids. Ed Emberly or something. The Big Green Drawing Book and stuff. Like, just do a dot here and a dot here and a squiggle there and bam! It’s an owl or a tree or whatever!

Ok, I have the Benefit High Beam as well.
How do you use it? It’s pretty, but I just feel shiny. Maybe I never learned the right way to use a highlighter….

Very cute! Though I am a bad Brit as I haven’t heard of Mitchell and Peach or Steam cream.
