October PopSugar Must Have Box

I am please to report that my October PopSugar Must Have Box arrived much more quickly this month.  Last month felt like it took forever.  Maybe because the box was OMGsoamazing last month?

Not that this month wasn’t amazing.  Because it was.  If you are let down by this month I think maybe it’s because the bar was set just a tad high last month. I mean really, you don’t think that can happen every month do you?  I mean, I wish it would, but I know it won’t.  Either way, I am totally addicted to PopSugar Must Have boxes and get so excited when they appear in my mailbox every month.  It appears that they are sticking with their  “Must Have” items from various categories and I think that’s a great idea.

First look.
Second look.

Unlike most of the subscription boxes that come only with a card, PopSugar’s Must Have box comes with a booklet that describes each product.  I’d photograph every page, but we’d be here forever ;).

The information booklet

Here’s exactly what the box contained:

Must Have Fitness:
Crescent Moon ExerSocks ($9.99): I love these.  I never really bought non-slip socks for myself, but I probably should have a long time ago.  I slide around my kitchen and bathroom floor all the time.  And now that winter is coming (ick) and I am going to be wearing socks more, it’s going to get worse.  Their website says: “ExerSocks provide the hygienic solution for Barre Workouts, Yoga Practice and Mat Pilates.”  Umm, okay, I guess I could use it for that too?  Or just to chase the kids around and not fall on my a**.

Must Have Entertainment:
Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling ($24.50): I have not heard a thing (good or bad) about this book, but it appears that it is #1 on the best sellers list.   I clearly need to get with it.  I do know that this is J.K. Rowlings first adult book (she did the Harry Potter series in case you live in a hole).  Although it’s not a book I’d normally read (the cover isn’t pink), I will add this to my “to read pile”.  I was able to read all my US Weeklys and OK Magazines on the trip to Chicago, so it is getting smaller.

Must Have Food:
Dylan’s Candy Bar Gummy Bears ($3):  I’ve never tried anything from Dylan’s Candy Bar (the owner is the daughter of Ralph Lauren), but I was happy to see these in the box.  B loves gummy bears so they will be gone as soon as he lays eyes on them!

Must Have Beauty:
OPI Pink of Hearts ($17): A lot of people were guessing that the October box would have something Halloween’ish in it. And it does (the gummy bears).  But since October is Breast Cancer awareness month, I thought they’d go for something along those lines.  And here it is!  I love these colors and cannot wait to paint my toes.  And I am going to try the trick of spraying Pam on them like one of my readers suggested so they will dry faster.  The crazier the idea, the better.

Must Have Home:
Red Flower Petal Topped Candle ($38): I got the spanish gardenia scent and I am not going to make any judgements on it just yet.  I am just so so on it, but I also didn’t think I’d like the diffuser from the August box (because it’s a floral scent like this candle is), which I am now addicted too.  My friend “W” approves of these candles, so people, that must mean they are good.

Special Extras:
Pirate’s Booty ($1): I haven’t had this stuff in forever, but I do love it! I think L might try to steal this from me because he’s into pirates and well, he likes snacks.

Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner ($5): These are sample sizes, but are on the larger size so that is good. I am excited to try this stuff because I have never used anything like this.  I won’t list all the things it says it can do (you can read about that here if you want), but this could just be the answer to all my problems!

And there you have it, the October PopSugar Must Have Box.  By my calculations, the box had a value of $98.49.  Not too bad considering it only costs $35/month.  What do you think?  Not as fabulous as September (that scarf still has me smiling) for me, but I loved it and I will use (or someone in my house will) every single item.  The November box is already sold out (*), but you still have time to sign up for the December box.  Umm, a Christmas present for yourself?  PERFECT!  Click here to order.  You can use “REFER5” to save $5 on your first box.

One last look 😉

And if you already get the box, what candle scent did you get?  And how much did your box weigh??  Mine weighed 4.5lbs, but I know some weighed 5.8lbs.  Was there something different in those boxes?  Do tell!! (**)

(*) I am going to give one away though, so you’ll still have a chance to get one!
(**) ETA:  It appears that the people who had boxes weighing 5.8lbs got full size shampoos and conditioners!  Phew.  Mystery solved.  I was losing sleep. 😉

Spread the love

I got mine today too. My box weighed 4.9lbs and I got exactly the same as you. Same candle scent too. Random but did you notice that the bubble wrap is tinted pink too? I noticed it today when taken pictures for my blog. I need to write my review tomorrow.

I just got my box today and I loved everything in it! It was my first box, so I was super excited to see it was on its way. I received the exact same of everything in your box, the same candle scent, and the same sock color. I love it and can’t wait for November!

Maybe I was way too spoiled by last months but I feel like this month was a complete letdown. All of these items except for the gummi bears are available on amazon right now. And really, popcorn? I feel like they either had to save money or got lazy and we got jipped. I have loved all of the boxes since it started too! I’m not sure they care because they aren’t losing customers. They are a gossip site. It is definitely more than 35 in value. Just not as fun this month.

Wow I was so excited to get the October box. I am so bummed! You are right the last couple months have been so much better.

Im pleased with my popsugar box. All usable. I received black socks (I would have prefered gray) And my candle scent was Japenese peony.

Gummy bears, Pirates booty and the new JK Rowling book (which I have heard very good things about even though I never read her Harry Potter books), not too bad. I dont think anything will ever top last month’s though.

I got one of the later shipped boxes, which were labeled 5.8 lbs. The difference is that the shampoo and conditioner I got was full size. It was a bit over 12 oz each. I bet that was what slowed down the second round of shipments, the lack of shampoo sample size, so the company maybe just gave them the full size.

Even though the September box had more MSRP value, I feel like this box was more solid in ability to use without extra work and did not seem so blatantly an advertisement (pop-up pantry sign-up/cancellation required and that coupon for the expensive products that involved a phone call to even use). I wish the box were more around 25 bucks, man they need to bring back that 3 month coupon ($35 plus CA tax makes it almost $40).

Loved the pink tinted bubble wrap!

Also I saw on makeup talk that you had your box, so I avoided your blog for days to not be spoiled!

WOW full sized shampoo and conditioner!!! Thats great.

Wasn’t the bubble wrap so cute. I love it. I’m actually keeping it to use in some Christmas presents to my friends. They will think its so cute too.
