I read a ton of blogs. A ton. And I’ve found that some do a way better job of keeping it real than others. I mean, some people’s lives seem like a party 24-7. Exotic vacations. Hopping from one fabulous party to another. Is that really reality for some people? Maybe Pinterest really does throw up at people’s houses and makes everything look all fabulous all the time. Maybe. But sandwiches shaped like turtles don’t happen here on a daily basis. And my kids aren’t genuises either. They are pretty cute though. And we all know that looks are everything
.
If you are reading my blog and are thinking, what’s she talking about, her life seems like a perfect party too get real. I mean, it is a party in that now that I am retired I can do as I please during the day. Wait, I can do as I please with two kids in tow. And one of those kids only likes to eat at home (I know this is weird so save it). But it is always loud at my house, so that’s very party like
.
But on the other hand, I read some blogs that feature people constantly bitching about their lives. Like people who newborns who bitch constantly about how they aren’t getting any sleep or whatever, but don’t ever seem to do anything about it. And people give them ideas and tips, etc, but they never use them. I hate to bitch and complain too much on here, because really my life doesn’t suck. But then again, it’s certainly not perfect either.
It’s a fine line for sure. If you are a blogger, how do you make sure you “keep it real”? I’d love any tips or advice you can give on this. And what do you like to read? ”Real life” or a sweetened version of it?

I very rarely comment but read everyday. I do not have a blog but I read a ton of them & I think you are one of my favorite because you do such a great job of keeping it real! Sometimes the highlight of your day is playing trains & going to target & that is something I can relate to! I love your blog & you have introduced me to several others that I enjoy as well.
We are just starting out our blog and my blogging is pretty much how I talk. I want our readers to relate to the daily lives of a suburban mom and our crafts. That is why I like your blog so much. You are a normal mom just like me and have similar issues. I also love that you have introduced me to the world of entering contests and free samples. I am still investigating your monthly boxes you get to see if I can find one I would like. My boys are 8 and 10 so they are not into the baby stuff any more. Keep blogging about your Real Life that is what is the most interesting to me.
Thanks.
